Acura Integra Hatchback

I recently (13 days ago) got my '01 Acura Integra tinted with the type of tint that has the metallic particles in it (HP Quantum -- I think made by Solarguard or some name close to that).
Anyway, the rear window has two problems. First, the little black painted dots at the top (the "matrix") didn't allow the tint to stick well. The place I went to said that it wasn't going to stick, but they could put a strip of black vinyl over it and I'd never see the streaky/milky look that it has right now.
The second problem is that cars headlights behind me are reflected at night from the heater/defroster lines that run horizontal across my back window. It looks cool when there's only one car behind me, but it's utter caos when there's traffic behind me.
Is this all caused from a bad tint job, or is this an ordinary problem with the metallic tint? Any suggestions or solutions?
Yes get the vinyl put on it will look great, i did a 02 integra yesterday adn it looked great with vinyl.
The distortion is called harmonic distortion, and yes unfortunately it is normal, it seems more notieable in cars that the backglass is at more of a extreme angle, for instance you dont really notice it much on trucks where the glass is straight up and down. you may also see a rainbow hue from the lights of a approaching car. its not bad film though.
Harmonic distortion is what you call it. I like that! I just tell my customers that because the defrost lines have a thickness to it and the tint has to go up and over it, when headlights are behind you and shines at the tinted glass, it refracts the light at each defrost line and shows up as multiple headlights. What do you think about that?
Anybody do a 90 integra?? i have one to do in a few weeks and was wondering the difficulty. Thanks
For me the back was the only thing,( it depends if it is a hatch back, or regular.. For me hatch back is little easier its because i am a big guy)... i think it was because i was using wet shrink....
But other than that it was a good experience.
First of all, you have to let the tint have adiquate time to cure or dry. When the water inbetween the tint and glass dries some of the distorted lines will go away.
and for the tinters out there, purchase the blue max or the orange crush with a nice handle. they allow you to really put some pressure on the back window and get most of that water out. Use caution on 2ply film, you could tear it.
