A New Job

FORT SLIDER

i called a tinting place today that was hiring, i'm going in friday to "show him what i can do" now i know people have differen't ways of tinting windows, now i'm pretty good for how long i've been doing this, now how can i "show him waht i can do" without looking like a jackass, i don't wanna look stupid because i do something different than him, or waste his tint, so how should i go about this audition type of thing? thanks

tintdude

hope he gives you a civic to tint (civics are very easy)

oldtinter

Just do it your way, the end result is ALL that matters.

grover0729

do it the way you would any other time should not do any thing new.

DontWorryItWillDry

TD, maybe they'll give him a truck with a solid back window and 2" black borders.

Anyways FS, let him know when you get there that you realize everyone has their own style and the only thing that should count is the end result like TD said.

tintdude

OT said that, but i agree

magictinter

just be yourself dude, when your trying to act like somone other than yourself is when you'll make an ass

> FORT SLIDER

alrighty then, are tintshops pretty leaneate about what hours people can work, cuz this summer i got summer school till 1:15 everyday, so bottom line is i probably wouldn't even be able to get there till 2 everyday, is this even worth going for?

oldtinter

Ya never know, doesn't hurt to ask, you'll learn alot more from 2-5 than doing something else.

FORT SLIDER

your right about that, and from what i understand we need loooooots of help around here, and even if i don't do as good as he'd like, think he may still take me and make me better?

oldtinter

We all started somewhere, prepping windows etc....

FORT SLIDER

yep, for everything someone does they usually start low and work their way up, most of the time at least

oldtinter

It's the only way to Really learn this stuff.

tintsem

I'm interviewing for a new employee now and we ask that they have very little or no knowlege of tinting. I like to train them myself,my way. They start my remove panels and preping windows then 1/4's, rollups and finally rears. If i was'nt such an :ahole maybe i could keep one for longer than 3 yrs.

SQUEEGEE

If you're green and eager like you sound Slider they'll grab you up quick.

Make a good name for yourself early by sticking around once he's shown you tricks of the trade that took him years to learn.

As for what you should do when you show up? Just do what you do without any explaination. He'll be taking notes and when you're done he'll probably ask why you did things a certain way and perhaps compliment or correct you later.

I believe what will be on display is your attitude and level of comfort working under supervision.

alaskansmurf

I hear smurf kisses are good luck

smokymtntint

Just do what you know they way you learned it. As long as you do a good job that is what counts. Not Speed, etc QUALITY is the key. But you will learn his ways too and be able to pick and choose your newly aquired tricks of the trade.

GOOD LUCK!!!

FORT SLIDER

thanks a lot guys, yall are the best, makes me feel alot better now with all that said

S and S

Be yourself and dont try to impress..you will only make an ass out of yourself...tell the truth..tell what you can do and how eager you are to learn..

kkcscott

if it doesn't go well just blame someone else just blame td. like i do :headbang good look at least you may have the opportunity to get trained by a proffessional because i wasn't as fortunate self trained and this site has been my only help good luck

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
