Heads up on a 03 bmw 745

solar solutions

what difficulty level is this car? i heard from local tint guys that the car is water sensitive

Mdog

yes the computer is under the rear deck, some people say to get in the trunk and pull the deck cover down and stuff towels in there to sop up water, so it doesnt leak all over the computer. there is a bulletin from llumar suggesting this. they are not hard to tint. ssn i just sent you a pm with more info.

solar solutions

thanks sooo much

Tint Slug

I stuff (and I mean stuff)paper towels in from the decklid and scrunge , wipe most of the water off, light mist, squegee, only mist the film and install by the time i'm done the towels are only moise and not soaked so I know no water has dripped into the computer

oldtinter

I stuff paper towels on the inside corners of the deck lid also, no problems.

CloudWalker

is that all you do is stuff towels in the deck ot? do you not open the trunk and wrap the cpu too?

oldtinter

Nope, just the paper towels. Only because as far as I can tell, the corners are the only area water can slip down along the wire harness into the computer. :dunno but I've done close to 10 of these things with no problems.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
