How to Contain Rear Deck Hair

By honest dude

This may be an 'old-timers' trick, but I have yet to see it posted on your forums. This works with both the frankenstien and the 'dirt-roll up' method.

Use your heat gun on high to gently melt the hairs down to themselves... slow and low passes in a uniform manner. It makes the deck lower and also holds down pet hairs with it.

This is THE perfect trick for a chicks car where the flies and bees and her long ass hair have overtaken the rear deck. Use your red devil to flick the flies and bees, heat gun to melt the hairs together and down.

Your welcome.

a perfect example..had a 89 cavalier old style in. there was PLENTY of black border space for a clean install..the only thing that interfered with that was some fuzzy fabric that laid down perfectly with one quick UNSCORCHED pass with a heat gun on low saving a pulling of the deck.

Not for every car, not for every situation, but if you're afraid of scorching a deck..then watch how easy it is for someone to do so that's done it many times .

If tinters were burning decks all the time ..perhaps its a clue that its not a good idea. I think the ones that judge this either have never tried it and are prejudging and are to afraid to try it on "the right situation" or they have tried it ..had the gun on to hot and burned a deck and vowed to never try again.

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
