Someone mentioned somehting about a generator, but I don't understnad. Can someone please explain to me what I need to buy and how to hook it up so I don't have to use their water.

If you want to be self contained you will need the following.
1. Water tank, size depends on available space and what you will be doing. Washing or detailing only. I would say no less than a 60 gallon tank if you are doing details only.
2. Pressure washer to wash cars, there can be a big debate on weather you should get an electric or gas powered but I say gas power 100%
3. Generator for running your vacuum, buffer etc. You should get at least a 3500 watt generator, dont gett eh super cheapie camper special you will regret it in the long run.
4. The obvious supplies such as polishes, waxes, towels, chamois, bottles, brushes, buffer etc.
I think that should get you a good start, dont forget the professional appearance, always deliver more than expected.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice. How many gallons of water do you think you use per car? Any idea?

depending on thec ar, about 10 for a wash and 20 or so on a detail. I carry 90 gallons with me and rarely get to the point where I am about to run out.

figure it this way in a days time you will be able to do 3 full details if your doing them right, I would get a 90 or 100 gallon water tank if you go smaller and am someones house you could filll up and be set for the next one. if your doing all jobs at work locations then you'll run out of water.
