Meguiars NXT Tech Wax
bandit
I have read a lot of this new product that can be bought over the counter from Meguiars ..so if anybody wonders how good it is before paying 15.00 for a small container ....here we go
I like to put on with a non swirling spagetti pad like a compound. You can do by hand but less work actually eliminating swirls from a prior buff job. This is a 2001 chrysler mini van we are cooking the paint on
Hood looks good and product is easy to work with...smells good too
Nice shine white residue we had no problem with....did eliminate the swirls
If you wonder why I like buffers 8 to 10 pounders...it helps to keep your guns in shape My employees use the 2 pound air buffers "wimps"
some buffing humor now the best part of the Nxt was what it did on plastic...I really like it for this area
Now being a o1d vehicle it wasnt that great of a test for the Tech wax,so we are now doing this POS now 97 expidition
This pic is called 2 dogs barking..............Rough Rough
The 3 C's...........Cloudy ClearCoat
Dents and scratches we dont xpect the NXT to fix but I will show you a way to help the scratches 100% useing the NXT Stay tuned tomorrow when you will here Slick Willy say..".Okay where did I put the damm keys" Always happens when your working on a PO
We are going to get the duck tape glue off the mirror with a Malco product...after cleaning go back and condition the plastic with protectant
This is a old timers trick to buff and protect in one step...but as we know some chems dont react well with others...lets experiment
Dammm sure smells like cotton candy Lets see if its as sticky
Bet you were wondering about the mirror
We had already dyed the trim around the mirror as you can see ...told my guys not to touch mirror until I got to it Clean and protected
Ok only 2 shots left on disk so here she be...hold your jaws off the floor Say SHineeeeeeee neeeeeee Now what I did was after buffing with the combo,I after each panel was buffed ,went back and put a thin coat of the NXT on as I move to next panel"No I dont sling Then when all the way around vehicle ...applied to top then started at hood and took off with lambs wool and air orbital palm sander
I think I left some money on the table Well maybe they will tip me good How do you say tip in Spanish
Here is a single stage 18 year old paint job I used the Diamond Plus and the NXT on in a layering sequence In the sun the lights dont add the reflection that you see in most pics.Thats why you see so many Flouresence lights at car shows
One of my suppliers came by as I was finishing and just drulled all over the paint"Didnt tell him it wasnt his products"
Yes this is the shop Lincoln we did 4 months ago..but as a normal human being I neglected the washing getting the new shop ready and tint season kicked in ,so the sealants only lasted 4 months That goes to show regular washings are the trick for clean shiny paint!!! 5 years
Just used the NXT on the old 97' Dodge Ram. Easy on and easy off like it should be. Applied with the Porter Cable DA(setting of 4) and off with a nice microfiber cloth. Here is a picture of the front fender for you to check out. Keep in mind that I wash and then clay prep before I wax each time its due for new wax. The directions say keep off vinyl, rubber and cloth surfaces so don't be afraid of a little blue painters tape and tape it off. Its quicker to take off the tape than go around and clean up the wax. Bottom line is how long this stuff will last? Time will tell all if this is worth the $15 bucks.

Fm you need to downsize it to be 50 or under...I had same problem for months This product has a lot of gloss plus cleaners so dont look for it to last more than a couple of months by itself I had no problems with it on trim, very forgiving..of coarse I use a protectant on all rubber/non clearcoated parts before appling sealant, then another after its on Shakey hand trouble ,then put on double
Mdog
wow thats some bad arse stuff

I will try again
tint bandit
your getting it ..now you wont leave home without it"Camera that is"
Add a coat or 2 of Carnuba..to fender and hood... .meguires or mothers are easy to get 24 hours later and then take pic and see if you can then make out who's taking pic...I hate that effect makes me look 5'2" and fat Im 6'1 195 but when you can see that deep of a reflection back......your the man

Just did my first customer car with the NXT. Polished with 3M Trizact and then NXT. Turned out pretty good I might say.

I love the 3m Trizact w/black waffle pad after watersanding with there Trizact disc...but Fm this stuff is to xpensive to use just for polishing in my opinion....What was the reason you used it before the NXT...maybe I can steer you to a cheaper solution with even better or same results That is if you want...if your happy with the cost and result keep up the good work

I used the 3M Trizact glaze for some light scratches on the topside and light swirls down the driverside from a local detail shop. The 3M Trizact glaze is GREAT and I don't mind the price because my customers get what they pay for and everyone knows who 3M is when you tell them about the products you use. I try all products and then narrow it down to just a couple of bottles I think are the best rather than a whole line up of 7 or 8 bottles that do the same thing.
Some products I have used in the past for scratches and swirls along with the different pad combos for the Makita and DA.
Parko 1750 (wool pad,3M white pad,6" orange pad with DA)
3M glaze for Dark colors(3m black foam pad,6" yellow pad with DA)
3M glaze for Light colors(3m black foam pad,6" yellow pad with DA)
Meguiars #9(3m black foam pad,6" yellow pad with DA)
Menzerna Final and Intensive Polish(3m black foam,6" yellow pad with DA)
Whats expensive is those 6" Trizact disc that I havn't got the courage to use as of yet followed up by the Trizact glaze.
I'm always up for new solutions.

Since your familiar with 3m Keep a bottle of the micro compound and a white waffle foam pad...good for spider webbing and washing scratches. Use the black waffle and Trizact for getting the scratches and swirls from the micro This combo should do most that you will encounter..This is what I used and started with for 4 years.

Thanks TB for the 411. Is the micro compound the medium cut bottle with blue lable?
bandit
No it actually says micro on the bottle...I have only bought it in a gallon or quart bottle....no pint bottle
