If you search enough you will find it somewhere in here.

But all you do is substitute Ivory-brand soap in place of dryer sheets or baby powder you would use during dry shrink.

Take a bar of Ivory soap and suds up a paper towl real good then rub it on the BG like you would dryer sheets etc...

let it dry and then dry shrink as normal!

hey naughty I think that dog and me got something in common.

I've never tried the soap method, been using dryer sheets so long it's hard to change up something that has been working.

B4 the the days of powder and dryer sheets, the method of choice was the wet method..many were reluctant to switch to a dry method when wet worked just fine..however I'm sure the % of tinters that switched for good was pretty high after they tried a few cars.

When I started there was no heat shrinking..it was all done with strips and cutting out the overlaps on the heater wire...we've all come a long way from that trying new ways that sometimes work out better than our comfort zone ways dunno.gif

those were the days..... orngbiggrin.gif

did you make patterns on the BG with masking tape?

we would outline the black frit and the lines we would cut on then roll out the tint and cut patterns on the car.

Nope..from day one ..always shined a big a$$ light from the inside, sprayed window down and layed the film on the outside to cut..at was all about "reading" the curve and knowing where to cut for overlapping on certain heaterwires for the seams...you got a finger dunno.gif what to do Flaugh.gif krazy.gif Tinting overall is cake now thanks to heatshrinking and black border Flaugh.gif

the first one I did took like 40 min on each door.

I dont know if anyone has posted using soap this way or not...Anyways, after experimenting with the soap method, I have found that the fast and simple method is like this..Hold the soap in your hand and soak it under water... Lather up your hand and walk it over to the bg and wipe the soap on with your hand..Smear it all over and cover the entire glass. Takes about 20 seconds. I find this works just as well as spraying it out through a bottle...But drys so much quicker...Usually less than 5 minutes...Also gives me the opportunity to clean my hands when I am done, which I admit I dont do often enough....
