Peeling Liner...., For the biters..... Options

So for any of youll that bit it with your teeth to seperate the liner from the film.... Leave a Little spot on the precut film before you rip the liner. Say it is a Bg. leave a spot in the cornor where you normally would release the liner. Than bite that spot that you left a extra cm long. to release the liner than soak the film down and replace the liner and cut the cm real quick to the rest of the pattern. Then Roll up and Reverse Roll. This should help out with less or no contamination where you bit the film and touching with fingers. Works for me since i was bitty the film with my teeth. try out the people who bite the film. And i know biting the film is a

I'm really good at it though... When I was learning my guy had me chewin on film for months befor I ever layed a peece of film.

I dont damage the film with my teeth...

I dont get that whole reverse roll on the backglass.... I would get dirt all over the place...

I was out doin a truck this morning with the temp about 40 and cut it out pulled it off the glass went to fold it over to trim the corners and the liner came loose never had that happen b-4 mabye somethin to tintin in the cold

Dam...maybe keep some peeces of scrap tint around and chew on em....

Takes a little time to get good at it ...but when you do, you dont even think about it.

yeah i dont try to bite it as much its just when its stubborn i still do the same thing with everything now even if i use my knife to release it, i just noticed a lil bit of cont. all the time from the smae spot where i released the liner and not i dont even have to worry about it with leaving that extra lil bit. I'm just happier with the outcome...

a blade is all i ever use anymore. When i first started i was a biter but not anymore!

Same here, I don't even use my nail, just the pad of my finger and I can hook it 99% of the time.

Sometimes that shiz just doesn't want to work with you though, in which case I bite and give the film "the tongue".

Yup! Thats how I've been doing it for 20 years. However this coming Monday I'm gonna have a problem. Today while cutting an onion....I cut the tip of my left thumb off. Nail and all. So its gonna be a little different Monday. However, I am real good at adlibing.

Yes....and I just had a dumb moment and forgot to curl. I'm usually really good and fast at cutting up my veggies.

I used to bite one corner too, but stopped when I started peeling with the film on the outside of the window soon to be tinted. If the corner that you are going to peel is laying (I mean stuck with water) on a relatively flat surface, it is simple to use a fingernail to release the liner. I can even do that in the dry winter when all my fingernails break off and are very short.
I started using the fingernail trick instead of biting when I started reverse rolling everything. That is when an employee quit and I had to do everything myself... good time to learn reverse-rolling so peeling and installing are way easier and I have even less contamination than when I had an employee helping me peel and spray... I have another employee now, and I still use reverse rolling on every window.

Hey its true! But today I back-rolled the back glass.....while it was still on the glass. Used my nail to peel the corner, took a bit of fight but I got it!! No contamn. where I did it either....but there was also a dot matrix border. (grand prix)

Im still usin tape 95% of the time tho, Im actually pretty quick with it.

thats my move too it's hilarious watching someone else try and do it, im a chewer since the beginning so i usually get it in one bite good tip leaving a lil extra to chew on

I'm a thumb popper myself, I quit biting when i was about 17 and sliced my tongue wide open on some R20. My tongue is too valuable an appendage to lose to some freak tinting accident!!

I guess it just depends i started biting, i still bite and i like to do it, ive tried the thumb since youll talked about it, also ive used my olfa to start the peel kinda like the art of tint in his video. but biting is just kick azzzit just takes me the time to put end of tint in mouth put teeth together and release.

Ditto! I don't damage the film when I bite it either. The guy that taught me made me bite scraps till I got it right. This tip makes sense though.
