just wanted to share this with everyone. not sure if anyone has posted this. we have been working with different ways to glue the matrix. after 4-5 years it looks like wallpaper paste has come out on top. how to use it mix in resealable container, clean window, take a 1 inch foam brush and paint the matrix and then install your bg. we have used several different types of the paste and they all work excellent. thumb.gif

did you check to see if this voids any warranty from the manufacturer's?

pretty much any glue you use to get the film down on the matrix voids the warranty. we have a great relationship with our manufacturers and that is not a great concern of ours. we have been installing window film for 18 years and have little to none on redos. and after seeing the film 5 years later we our very happy how it looks.

Does it just make the tint stick, or dose it hide the dots too?

Would love to see a pic of that. Just getting back into tinting after a 5 year stint into other things. The dot matrix has given me bad dreams for years - even when I was away from tinting!

I will try this, I have also tried tons of different adhesives. I found that on Nissan's and Honda's, the only thing that has really worked, was Silicone. Yep a thin layer of clear silicone works very well. Just a mess, the same way I think wallpaper paste would be. I have a Honda and I will go through the pain of using the silicone. Before I started tinting, I was hanging wallpaper and that paste is a mess, I really like tinting, I hate goo. So does anyone have any other ideas, that have worked without mess and goo.
Thanks

It just takes a very small amount. We have done it in Florida for years, and if it holds up here, it will hold up anywhere.

Used the paste on some cars it worked out good. I had a couple of comebacks with white sh!t where the paste didn't dry clear. I think the trick is to get a thin uniform layer. but then too thin and it won't stick. I'm going to start using vinyl on the tough ones, like the new 3 series, and 90s mustangs, sentra....
