Mirror for tucking behind brakelights Options

Just going to see if anyone has any ideas for this, I work by myself so alot of times I am in and out of a car checking the bottom of a b-glass because I cant see from the inside if I have pushed a finger down or if I have any bubbles left in the film (mainly tucking behind a brake light). I am thinking of some kind of mirror on like a swivel or something that can be adjusted to be able to see the spot I am trying to hit without getting in and out of the car, maybe on a magnet or something that will stick to the trunk? It is not something that would be used alot but would be good to have on some models. Anyone got any ideas how to make something like this?

I've done similar, but just propping the mirror up so I could see, a magnet mounted one is a great idea!

Or maybe a suction cup with a mirror mounted off of it

I've used a large vanity mirror before that had a soft rubber bottom and swiveled with a reg mirror on one side and a magnifying one of the other. I found it to be more hassle than its worth. I just got into the habit of squeegeeing 2 or 3 times where I thought the problem was to make sure I got it.

Ew, I did a new Hyundai(sp) Genesis Coupe, and a mirror would have helped. The bg is just shy of 36" long (thats right TINT, I frankied) and I decided to stick it behind the third brake light. For whatever reason, the film kept popping up from the bottom and I kept having to crawl out, check, heat, squegee, check, heat, squegee....etc. I didnt get a pic of the car and I wish I had, but a mirror would have saved me time.

hmm yea i have thought of doing this also but didnt know what to use to hold it. the suction cup idea sounds the best to me. that way if the custy sees it its no big deal.

Just an idea.. to do this..

get a lite plastic mirror on a flexable mount like we use in PDR... If you don't know what I am talking about check out the dent boards out..

yea thats a good idea, Ive seen them used before in dent removal. Maybe I could get a mirror cut and glued to it? Sometime them plastic mirrors get warped, I put one on my old truck side mirror one time and I felt like I was trippin everytime I look out of the mirror

maybe just do a wet check on the lower half of the backglass. Then use a bulldozer to apply and make 2 or 3 passes....should be ok.

You just want to see .... the weigh of glass maybe too much.. Plastic is lighter...

Back in the day, when I used to actually do things to my car (pre marriage/kid days). I used roll with a WINK full view safety mirror... you old skewlers prolly know what I'm talkin about. I always had an old rear view mirror around, I would put a washcloth or shop towel on the trunk, and place the rear view down and angle it to see whatever I needed. Worked just fine

Good idea just be sure to make sure you put something like a papertowel between the magnet and the paint job, ive seen dealers scratch brand new cars not paying attention to taking off the temp magnet tag after a test drive.. Just figured i'd throw my input in so you wouldn't be replacing a paint job, good luck

the pic didnt show but im sure if you've seen a paintless dent remover you know what im talkin about. its a suction cup with an adjustable arm and a 4" x 8" (i'm guessing) reflector on it. im sure you could attach a mirror to that somehow. i havent gotten around to trying it out yet.

Found this link on the paint protection forum. This is the piece i speak of. Kinda pricey.
