Catch a falling razor?

Fess up! I know you've done it.

My brother did it and cut himself pretty badly.

I did it today and got lucky. Just stabbed my thumb a little. The cut is about a cm long. I just quickly held it together and it sealed up nicely. It was just a single side blade razor (I was removing glue).

Have done it with a triumph scraper. Just nipped the edge of my palm. Fbigeyes.gif Took forever to heal. evileye.gif

I don't know how to link you to the thing that got me a purple heart....but if you do a search for
"Slice, down to the bone" you will find my entry to this subject. thumb.gif

When I first got done with my training and returned to my hometown, I got a 93 F-150 to strip and retint. When I was stripping the driver side wing window, very stupidly holding the wing with my left hand and moving the blade ade with my right, I sliced my hand wide open on the palm, close to my pinky finger. Duh, stupid! 7 stitches, almost down to the bone, saw the fat layer under the skin. Dem blades is sharp, dawg! Be careful! Fbigeyes.gif

its so hard to not try and catch something you drop. im good at it now though. the thing is you have to be able to turn it on and off. when youre at home and you drop a glass or something you want to try and catch it.

I have done it with a triumph.

I have done it.....while removing stickers off a car my hand slipped from the window right into my other hand holding the single edge blade...... only about an inch in width took a few days of leaving my hand alone to heal......but it took forever to quit bleeding......still have the scar......

Metal scraped slipped out cleaning a windshield off.(someone stole my plastic one) cut my leg wide open. 3ft drop gave it a bit of momentum. Uhhcopy.gif

Just a reminder, any good story about being injured while tinting qualifies you for a purple heart medal for your sig...

Yesterday I was sitting in the front seat of a Dodge pickup scraping the windshield for the eyebrow, well I was in a hurry and the scraper slipped out of my hand, hit the head liner and lodged in my forehead....... blink.gif . Needless to say, I had never done that before but now I can say that I have! Flaugh.gif Glad it wasnt my eye.

Around 15 years ago I was working with another guy blacking out some windows to hide the wall behind them. It was a tight place to be working in. the windows were 14 feet high the last window to do. It was not as wide as the others so we put the ladder sideways against the wall and I was at the bottom holding the ladder when I heard a sound ting ting ting ting and looked up and took a 4” scrapper right between the eyes. The sound I heard was from it hitting each ladder rung on its way down.luckely it hit me strait on as it would have been worse if it was a corner of the scraper so if I hear that sound again I will not look up. Still have a scar from it. mad3.gif

I was trimming a rubber gasket and my Olfa slipped. It didn't seem to bad until I squeezed it to see how bad it was. WOW that hurt! 4 shots to numb it and 8 stitches later my thumb was back together. That was 4 years ago and it still throbs sometimes.
mahuebel
I haven't really cut myself from a falling razor, but i was holding a straight edge wrong once and sliced the tip of my finger off.
To this day I check where my fingers are while using a straight edge

i have cut myself so many times by catching my scraper that now it's a reflex to just pull my hands up out of the way ...still have issues with putting my red dot in my mouth before retracting all the way though ...

yep, hands up and hope for the best. i hate getting cut. you ever been cut by security film... just as bad as a razor sometimes. cleaning up after a install on an empty floor of a barnett bank, i bent down to pick up a scrap and not thinking when i stood up the scrap was stuck pretty good to the floor and pulled through my wet hand like a hot knife through butter. im lucky there was no one there to see me bleeding all over the tile floor.

typing with bandaged hand now cuz someone put a olfa blade int the slitter on the handler. I went to move the slitter and sliced my palm up pretty nice.....
sunlimitedCT
Ran the olfa up my leg once trying to cut the end off an extension cord. Just the other day I slit right between my pointer and middle finger winding up a piece of blister free. The liner on that shiat is so thick it was like a piece of 8 mil getting in there..

I'm lucky, just got 4 film cuts on my two hands 1st tinting day...
Too agile seems dangerous. I never let objects fall.

I cut half my nail off. removing sticker left hand on glass and right hand pushing the blade when it slipped I saw stars then plenty of BLOOD !!!

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
