Don't shrink the bottom.
those cars ore POS`S
i take the back deck out so i can get plenty of room to squeege because your gonna have to FIGHT the bottom area down and the more room the better. i shrink all the fingers on the top of the glass and dont worry about the bottom because of that reverse curve it has.
not sure either I did one not too long ago and did'nt have any problems, what seems to be giving you trouble?
shrinking it?
I did the top dry and the botom wet or enough so it did'nt give me problems!
I've never tried that one WITHOUT shrinking the bottom.
Trying to shape the bottom.
yes, and you can also try to wet shrink it some of the way.
Before
After
Here's the tools I used to install.............
What happened to the brake light? I wish i could get away with that.
Yeah my customers are too picky. I would have pulled the rear deck or it would be
Like the tool setup though.
yes thats how you do that car
Yea, not to many cars leave with the brake light cut out, but I really hate pulling the seats and deck. I had one customer ask after the fact and I strip it and was able to use a clip board behind the light.
We take the time to pull the rear seat and deck out. Cutting out the brake light would never fly around here. I don't think anyone up here cuts them out.
When I get one that won't stick in the bottom I jam towels up between the rear deck and glass and let it stay for a couple of hours, then carefully remove the towels and the tint will have stuck to the glass.
Dont shrink the bottom eh??
Hey does anyone have any pix to post?? The ones in this thread are so old their not there anymore. I hope I can tint this one!! I already pulled the rear seat and deck/brake light!
BOOYA!!!!
BTW, I horizontal anchored (no water, just hardcard pressure) about 4-5 inches down from the top of the glass, and shrank the shiz out of the bottom. Has this worked for anyone else??
The method that I use on these back windows reminds me of a method that someone posted here a couple of years ago on the late '90s Camaros. Basically, set up the window like you normally would, but use two horizontal anchors, one near the middle of the BG, and one right at the very bottom edge of the film (like 1" wide). Shrink the top like any other car, then just shrink out the bubble between your two anchors on the bottom half.
I did that and had no issues with shrinking, and I didn't have any problems at all with the install. It installed just as easy as any BG, no problems with the film popping off the bottom four inches.
send the car to me.I love tinting those things
Just curious,
![]() That's what it looks like before you slap it on. After you throw it inside it fits like a glove.
I do ti just like DOUBLE D shows in his picture.
The bottom part looks like its going to be a real pain in the azz looking at how it lays on the outside but it squeegees out rather easy when you get in on the inside. Just make sure you shrink the top half first and it will work out.
very simple.shrink only the top.dont touch the bottom.dont even try to lay it flat on the outside.when you go in with it it'll lay right down.same with the camaro rear glass.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
