Full Version: what happens now?
I took my '01 honda civic coupe to get tinted today
If you were my customer and griped and you put on a rant and rave, then I'd redo it because I know I would have tried to stooge you in the first place and never got away with it.
But, you didn't pay the right price for something that looks like a quality install, so I guess you are up shiot creek. Any tinter worth their salt would have advised you about the rear light...they didn't and that indicates their professionalism. Find some dirt in it and reject it under "the no specks or it's free edict of window tinting." Devil
89.00? Is it purple yet?
You paid $89
i'm not going to trash this because i want you people to see what we have to put up with here in texas. he's no different than 75% of the customers i get in here everyday. this guy is complaining on a job he paid $89. you have to be kidding me, what the hell do you expect for $89?
this car is $145-$175 in my shop. if you want to have a legitimate complaint, pay somewhere in this price range, then you can complain. otherwise, shut the hell up and enjoy your cheapo film while it lasts. (which should be no longer than a year in west texas heat.)
you get what you pay for dawg. now you see the difference in a REAL TINT SHOP and a hack shop, hack shops do things like that. i agree that would look like crap though.
if you pay a low peice like that you have to expect low quality tint and installation. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (Blade @ Jun 19 2004, 02:12 PM) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You should have checked a few more places first. Sorry for your bad experience.
typically I will ask to see an example of someones work (doesn't really matter which trade) before I agree to let them work for me. I assume that the employees drove to work and you could look at their cars. If you asked for the same job as they have then you have a beef but if all you did was get excited about saving $10 then you screwed yourself.
Devil
You paid about $100 less than you would around here. If thats the only gripe you got I would leave it alone.
Sorry for the bad experience, but next time do some looking and dont try to save a few bucks you will pay for it in the long run
Like everyone said, you got
Just my two cents worth but when I tinted my windows it would have been nice to know that I could have removed my rear seats, etc so that the tinter could tint my rear window better. I also have a Civic coupe 6 generation though.
I would be happy to do this if he would have mentenitoned this to a nube customer:)
I remove the rear deck without removing the rear seat. Every damn time. I'm that damn good

ok,i got the solution to el cheapo's dilema...firstly,you paid slave labour...i mean yikers!...89 bucks?...a tinting sweatshop!....secondly,i made a tool that works wonders for honda brake light spots...take a bbq burger flipper, dip it in rubberized paint(twice),and it works wonders...ps..ive done more hondas in 1 week than most tinters have done in...errr......1 week!..lol!
I don't get it, back in '98 I quit doing auto. I charged at least $150 for those back then with three year film, $175 with lifetime high performance.
That was six years ago, film cost rises every year, utilities rise, rent, etc. Why would anybody in their right mind offer an $89 job unless it was a basic truck? I said it before and I will say it again. Window tinting is not a product you buy in a box and poof it is on the car. It is a professionally installed service. It doesn't matter what brand is installed, it all looks like crap if a non-professional installs it. Remember the sayings? Buyer beware You get what you pay for. If it looks like too good of a deal, it's not
I can recall invoices from 1979 that show cars I was doing in dyed film not SR for about $75 USA. That's all there was 25 years ago.
What's happening with it today? Simple....newcomers with no business brains and distributors who will sell one roll of film as a cash sale at the same price as long term tinters get it at who buy tons of it. Devil (tintgod @ Jul 11 2004, 08:56 PM) (Blade @ Jul 10 2004, 04:16 AM) I remove the rear deck without removing the rear seat. Every damn time. I'm that damn good You don't believe me?
