QUOTE (Tint Wiz @ Sep 22 2004, 11:19 PM) Front 1/4 lights bit of a pain but got them in ok, rear window took some time bit curvey but laid down ok Hey Wiz........Having a bit of trouble getting the bottom to lay down.........I got the top sorted but the bottom is on the verge of over heating and under shrinking.......If that makes any sense. Any tips for the bottom edge or is it just go for it and hope. I did it dry (Baby powder) method cos wet was just an open invite for creases. Do you find working from the middle out to the edges better on a dry shrink? On a wet i was taught to work outside to inside but the dry method is something i'm picking up for my self and a few pointers would be really good. Cheers. 156
sound like you've overcooked thge bottom if it does'nt wont to lay down on the glass when you're mounting it. Sometimes it's best to give it some heat and then move away, do another area and come back to it, gives it time to relax almost.

Cheers Naughty.
Patience prevailed and the job was finished today. Couple of pics of the problem and then the finish.......rewarding though near suicidal when we first attempted it. 156

Be careful removing the rear spoiler if fitted - I know somebody that broke the back glass doing this.

Naughty [*]348534[/*] thanks for that, i hope i dont need to. i had a look at one at the dealers today, ( only from the outside ) that one just had a small lip spoiler on the top edge of the hatch, did not look like it would need removing. i`ll let you know how i go with it. dave QUOTE (dave351cid @ Dec 10 2005, 10:00 PM) QUOTE (naughtydog @ Dec 10 2005, 04:48 AM) Be careful removing the rear spoiler if fitted - I know somebody that broke the back glass doing this. (i think some one is just trying to scare me ) very top corners of front quarters are a bit hard to get at.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
