Full Version: how to find a shop?
what is the best way to find a shop for my tinting business.?..i am looking for a shop...but it is really hard to find one....should i contact some contractors or what?...some help would be appreciated..thanks..
I would just get out and ride around. Check the papers and watch billboards of course. But go look for a shop where you WANT to be and what you feel will be a good location. That's what I did
thanks RICH....i have been doing that..there is a place here where there is no tint shop ..it is an area that is booming with rich ppl..and that is the customer i want...they are building like crazy..and i want to get there before anyone else....but doesnt seem to have any old shops around ..so think im going to have to get a build to suit going...
I think I have one of those going right now. Land cleared, building being worked on. parents and their partners are working on a warehouse/retail location and I will be in one of the stores unless I find something better before Jan. It's prime location here in the heart of one of the dealer locales and on a good side of town.
Also check with a few realtors that seem cool. They may even have lease property coming up and you can get in before they advertise. I have several land/building contacts in my area for this reason. Get it before it's advertised.
Property manangement company...
yeah what he said too. that's actually what i had in mind as well as realtors. but couldn't come up with the words.
You have some great answers in here to get you started. Nothing to add except that building a new shop might put your overhead a little higher than you want, with just starting out and all.
I agree with Eclipse. Unless you have a strong money backing and at least a 5 yr business plan in place, I don't think building a new shop would be feasible.
thanks for the feedback guys...im working on it...still
Hay
I was browsing round Here and found already tinted glass, but i dont know if thats what u want... though
thats not what he wants.
we have found that old gas stations are great tint shops and the stations that have a small store and an empty shop bay are great for business evert one needsa gas and what do you do while your pumping the gas but look around we have had great success with these locations.
realestate companys can direct you if that fails check out some glass shops and see if they will rent you a bay or a stereo shop cheaper rent and brings the customer to you
My question is how come a building can sit empty for years making NO income, but when you want to lease it, the rate for it is through the roof?
I've found lots of what could be nice shops here, but the rent is ridiculous. examp. 3 OLD bays freshly cleaned up by the last tenants(which lasted 3 weeks) NO highway frontage, and No signage available(city ord.) $1200.00 /mnth (Film Critic @ Oct 16 2004, 06:23 AM) My question is how come a building can sit empty for years making NO income, but when you want to lease it, the rate for it is through the roof? For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
