These suck! Am doing one now at the shop. What is with the windows rolling down and sliding back so much???

Probably wouldn't be so bad if the customer wasn't waiting for it.

I am so pizzed right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TintWizard
I personally like tinting these cars ..easier than the older models once you've done a few thumb.gif
oldtinter
Yeah..They're better than the old ones. Those REALLY sucked. Flaugh.gif
Blade
Plus the top of the panel pops right back. Being a panel puller it works nice for me. thumb.gif
TintWizard
if your into vinyling..it's an easier 1 peice to load in orngbiggrin.gif
Blade
Occasionally run into newer ones that need shrinking on the outside of the rear doors too. Only on some though.
SIR TINTSALOT
I ALWAYS SHRINK THE TINT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOORS FIRST, SAVES THE BIG ASS FINGERS FROM POPPING UP DURING THE INSTALL.
OTHER THAN THAT THEY ARE CAKE, AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES TOPS FOR THE WHOLE CAR broken.gif
tintgod
WHAT?..I COULDNT HERE THAT LAST REPLY....CAN YOU MAKE YOUR PRINT A LITTLE BIGGER....

but yes...some have to be shrunk...but i dont do it..but if i have to..i do the shrinking on the inside..at the bottom of the window.. thumb.gif

Bringing an old thread from the dead here..but thought it would make someones life a little easier...it's a good idea to have a spare set of these around if your a tinter that likes removing or pulling panels on these cars. It's behind the peice that holds the triangle mirror cover in place on some yrs of this car...they can easily break and your screwed if they do...it's because of the force of your plug puller prying it off(no matter how gentle you are doing it...if the plastic is a couple of yrs old...not even that, they can break around the screw area...they only cost $5 for a set from the dealer. It's good to have around on hand so you don't have to worry about ordering them if it happens. Doesn't happen often..but it can...and not all intrepids have this peice in behind ( I think they smartened up along the way) so you can just pop them on with 2 screws. thumb.gif

I'm not mistaken. It's from an Intrepid.

As I say ..some have them..some don't . I think they're a thing of the past , I've noticed them more on the 99 - 00 ones.

What happens is if the metal clip on the triangle peice is stretched out a little too wide...it breaks the plastic around the screws on the peice illustrated.

some /most have it where the triangle peice go right into the frame of the body(the right way...the smart way) ,but beware ..there are a few (surprise ones thare have this peice in behind it) trust.gif inot.gif

It's not a TOTW kind of thing...but just be awate they are out there...and they can break is all.
TINT
well the only triangle i ever seen is the cover where the tweeter is located? you have to unscrew that and then there are like 2 more inside. that's all i can remember. but like you said some may have some may not.
good advice either way. thumb.gif

TintWizard

TINT
well what do you know, that's what i was talking about, normally for me, the ones iv'e done have a tweeter inside but with a cover you know, must a be a cheaper version of intrepid spit.gif

Bumpity-bump-bump.

I have one of these sometime next week. That b/g is scurrin me a bit.....Im confident I can one peice it, but any pointers on loading that into the car......?? gasp.gif ......reverse rolling has been quite tricky for me to learn. I've been getting by (barley) by frankinsteinin, but I kinda fold the film....not so it touches tho.

yep..frankie it ..only use a smaller peice from bottom of lines to bottom of window and sell them a $40 option of "filing" in the black lines with vinyl gasp.gif Flaugh.gif
MidcoastMW
Thats still a big peice to frankie!!! lol....good tip on seprate peice for the lines at top, Ill do that, scince you wont see the splice from the outside. No vynil here, film..or nuthin.
TintWizard
I booked one of these today myself ..done quite a few of them now.

At least theres nothing to take apart in the back at all ...no door panels to pull..they just pull back ..back doors need to be shrunk a bit.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
