Instead of me always asking you eperienced guys what to do, which will change in time as I go, how can I found out how to match tint to a factory SUV tint.
I`m going to be doing a GMC yukon, it looks like smoke to me. I measured the tint with my tint meter, it read 18%. What would be a match?
that depends on what year it is. if its the new body style you need a CHARCOAL colored film. almost ALL vehicles these days you can use CHARCOAL film to match the factory glass the best.
30 or 25 % tint would probably match the darkness the best though.
When I get this question I tell the customer that 20% is about as close as you get to matching factory darkened glass.
We use a certain company's 15%

I put a cheap layer of 50% smokeNR from sungaurd on the back windows of my 02 Expedition. Looks nice. Thanks for the advise
