If you are bypassing your clutch to install a remote start thats just an accident waiting to happin
i relize that. I keep my cars e brake on at all times when parked and in neutral. if that aint enough i have a 1,500 dollar rear brake system with high perf caliper and rotor it aint movin trust me.
There is a switch above the clutch pedal join the two wires together and your in bussiness. Just hope you dont forget to not to leave it in gear
(Mr paladin @ Sep 13 2004, 06:30 PM) If you are bypassing your clutch to install a remote start thats just an accident waiting to happin The proper way to do it would be to have someone that knows what they are doing install it. Maybe you do, I don't know. One slip up, one time, and you could cost yourself a starter, engine damage, electrical problems, fire, damage to another car, or run over someone that is accidentally in the way. not to mention if you're in a parking lot one day and your cranking it with the key and your foot slips or you don't push the clutch all the way in. I have seen with my own eyes someone run a mustang into a lower parking lot and sit it on someone else's hood. Not once. But twice. This ranks up there with tinting the front windshield. "I know you're not supposed to, but I'M DIFFERENT" I have relays and switches interlocked in my clutch, gear shift, and ignition specifically for the starting so it's totally safe. Have to use the clutch with key, has to be dead center neutral with E-brake on to remote start. No room for error and after several years, all still works perfect. I highly recommend not doing this with safety measures in place. Mr. P is right. OOPS! just saw the date. He's probably already run it in a wall by now. I have seen a BMW drive off a front end machine when the mechanic leaned up against his tool box with the remote in his pocket.
