My mechanic has told me that my EGR valve and the pipes that go to it may be cloged. He said this is a common problem. It just gets cloged up with carbon and you have to clean it out. Is this something that I could fix myself? If so how difficult will it be. Also, since I am at it would it be a good idea to just replace the EGR valve since I have it appart? He said the pipes and crap are hard to clean out. He will do it for $350. Is this a good deal? Should I attempt it myself?

As per other requests along this line...I would go to FordEmmissionDude.com and talk to oldmechanic and get his take on it. He's old but sharp biggthumpup.gif Expect a smart ass answer at first but heed his knowledge. If he's not on, rip it apart and do it yourself. It's not hard at all. Anyone can do it. And makes lots of easy money doing it. Just like your mechanic does thumb.gif

Hope this helped and welcome to TINTDUDE.com

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
