So I have this Viper 791xv and it came without the installation booklet. I have been installing alarms for over 22 years on the side for family members. I will install this into my new 04 Honda Cvic EX. Can anybody help me with the connections and wire color codes. I don't need the car color codes just the alarm wires. Thank you all for any help. diehardrod@yahoo.com

Gee that much anybody knows. I build and fix elevators in NYC for a living so come to my world and do your best. I just like to get the color codes before I hook my meter and ring out the leads.

Not trying to be azz.. but some of us MAKE OUR LIVING doing these, and you just come on here and tell us you bought it from a non-authorized dealer, w/o an instruction manual, and want us to help.
What features do you want? Let me guess.....ALL? Why didn't/won't your supplier, and I use that term looooosely, send one?
I'll try to email one to you
If you want help on this board from others, you will HAVE to put your location in your profile.

I just like to get the color codes before I hook my meter and ring out the leads. Build and fix elevators does not impress me. They don't pay enough. And I think I could handle your job. Thanks for the offer though I'm in this by choice, not by trade. Alot of us have different backgrounds then it appears. You have to remember there is a reason this information is not posted on every site everywhere. It's so people that don't know what they're doing don't try to do what they have no business doing. Not saying you don't know. Directed does not like to sell these alarms for anyone but authorized dealers to install. I have three posts in the last 24 hours that started out the same way "So I have this ...." Is that a strange coincedence? Do you have an auto trans. or manual? EX I'm guessing auto

Ok guys let me start of by saying "I am sorry". A little back ground on me, I started doing alarm system back in 1970's when all we had was a horn and a pin with key switch. I also had my own bussines doing home and car alarms in NYC for about 5 years before I sold it and started doing elevator work. Again I am no better then most of you installers that have stay in the game and have kept up with the changes when it comes to the alams of today., but I will run anybody to the ground when it comes to elevators.
I am only looking to connect the door swtichs, and door locks to the Honda. I last did Viper 600's in the kids cars (2) over a year ago and I don't do it for anybody else so trust me when I say I will not take any work away from you guys.
Thank you and lets be friends.

I bought and had installed a new Viper 791XV in my van. When I do the remote start the vehicle only runs for about 2 minutes. Being in the cold country, I need a longer start . CAn you tell me how to change the remote start time. I have done the removing out of turbo mode but no go. I have a viper owner guide but not the installation guide. Any help would really be appreciated

Thank you all for any help. diehardrod@yahoo.com [*]200209[/*] I have the Viper 791xv installed in my 2004 jeep wrangler. The person I purchased it from performed the installation as he operated an alarm shop. Recently I have decided to add the 508d proximity sensor. I want to ensure that the shock duel sensor is always sensor 1 and that 508d is always flagged as sensor 2 on the led remote. Presently (without the 508d installed) the led issues a sensor 2 warns when the shock sensor is in warn and a sensor 2 alarm when fully triggered. I know this is wrong and believe that the wiring to the sensor is backwards. I do not see an extra wire (blue or green) hanging off the sensor side and the entire wire is wrapped in electrical tape (to appear neat). If I had the installation manual I would be able to work this out and fix what I believe to be a faulty install. Could someone please forward this manual to me (at mictrik@yahoo.com)? Also, any advice you may have would be appreciated. PS. Though I have in my possession the 508d I will not attempt to install it until this issues is resolved. Rgds/Mic

Hi guys could somebody send me a copy of the install guide for the Viper 791xv alarm. (ryan@samurai.ruin.org)
I don't have the alarm (yet). I want one but I think I will have to install it myself. I searched on the driected.com website and there isn't a authorised installer anywhere in my state (Vermont). I am an electrical engineer and I think I can handle the install over a weekend. But I want to look at the install manule first.

QUOTE (MKO @ Oct 25 2005, 11:51 PM) hey guys i've just installed this Viper 791XV unit into my car but am having trouble with the Siren at the moment. I bought it from an authorised dealer, and installed it myself to save me some cash being a uni student, and also to put my electrical education into use. Everything is wired up and works correctly as i followed the instructions from the installation manual supplied. But in that manual, it only talks of 2 wires coming from the siren. Whereas on my siren, there are 4 (Red, Black, Green, And Violet). In the booklet it says to connect the black to ground and the red to the brown of the primary harness. But doesn't say anythign about the green and violet. Are you guys able to help me out with where these 2 wires go? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks Robbo

i am trying to install the 791xv in my van and i have no idea where the remote start activation wire(h1/3), the second unlock output(h2/6), or the 2nd status(h3/1) goes or the onboard starter kill. i also have no idea where the four smaller wires on the relay satelite connect. i definetly need more experience in this field, i know. and the install guides tell me what the wire do but not where they go

Hi everybody. I'm in the same situation than most of the guys in the forum. If anyone could send me the installation manual for the Viper 791XV, I'd really appreciate it. In my case, I bought it in CA and carried it with me overseas, so I can't find an authorized dealer to install it on my SUV. My e-mail is adelareza@gmail.com
Thanks a lot!!!

Hey guys. Just registered to the site so take it easy on me. I purchased my 791xv alarm system from a website and took it to a Circuit City to have it installed. They asked me while I was there if I wanted the remote start feature and I told them no because it's a manual, and I didn't want my wife to leave the car in first by mistake...lol. Well now I am ready to have the remote start function as well as being able to roll my windows down and up. My brother in law has been working on car audio / alarms for a while now and he said he can take care of this for me, but I don't have the install guide. I called Viper and they said they won't give it to me, all they could give me is the owners guide. I am from Tampa, FL. and I am not trying to "undermine" or "take business" from anyone here, but I was just wondering if someone could please send me a copy of the install guide to my email address at robert.almand@gmail.com Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys!! Scott

Thanks! I don't know much about alarm installs so I don't know if this all he needs or not. I will check tonight. In the meantime, if anyone has the complete install guide and wouldn't mind sending it, that would be great as well.
Thanks Again!
