what kind of film? Where do you start heating and stop? are your corners pealing, burning, creasing?

Hey Devil i can seem pretty good never had a prob. it just doesnt suite my style i think im just scared of the 2 piece. But i just 2 pieced this car i was tired of messn with it anyway.............i been tinting for around 3 years im good on a mazda 6, though its rainy here that might b a prob............does it mean u suck if u need to 2 piece a window???????

and for reply 2 lumar 30% i hate 30% on bg anyway have prob. with corners not shrinking anymore, to big of a finger,if i keep heating ya they crease.
Protint
around here if you two piece a mazda 6 people would think you sucked. Llumar film (ATR) is some of the most shrink friendly film I have used.

Try pulling the fingers while you heat them (lift and pull technique) developed by some 3m dist. Flaugh.gif
Mdog
i leave alot of overhang on the top so i can heat and strech the film, on the bottom corners i blow my heatgun UNDER the film first to make it curl alittle then heat it like normal.
Protint
Ya Mike didn't Joe teach you that technique while he was training you the lift and pull method. Flaugh.gif

horz line?

oh I get it now horizontal line. yes.

no I guess it does'nt mean you suck if you do a 2 piece, its all in how you were trained and how you let yourself get the newer techniques down and how much practice your willing to put in to get where you want to go, and that would be one piecing everything that you will tint at least 10 times in your life.

Yea thats the old strech and blow technique!

Not at all beek. It only sucks if you don't get a big dollar for the job.

PS. Don't make the job any more difficult than it needs to be.

I didn't mean that you personally sucked if you two piece. It is just a thing around here that local installers use to bash eachother to the customers. All the tinters around here hate eachother.
Exact-Oh
No, you don't suck if you have to two-piece a BG. Hell, before shrinking, we used to do them in five, or more!

If you can do seems that are undetectable, and still get a clean job, it makes you a better tinter, IMO. There will always be those cars out there that just can't be done in one, even with the best, heat-friendly films.

I have one of these today. I don't think it's my first one (hell, I can't remember), but I don't see many. I do not want to do it in two though, takes too much time in my book. I'll let you know.
Exact-Oh
I don't see a problem with doing this one in one piece. I will admit, it is one of the more challanging BGs to do in one piece, but definitely not impossible.

I didn't even have to employ the stretch method, but I could tell the film was reaching it's limit near the bottom corners. It's certainly not a car I would try in one without plenty of shrinking experience.

there's 2 kinds of Mazda 6's ..the sedan..and the hatch..both are not too hard to do at all in 1 peice dunno.gif
Exact-Oh
I did the sedan today... wish it was the hatch, my knees would've been happier.
zolar
The shrink is only 1/2 the problem on the 6

those thick-azz defrosters make hanging the bg a booger
De4thMet4LKing00
I would agree and say that the "6" sedan backglass is kinda difficult to shrink in one piece, but I've done at least 6 of them (the ones before, I did in two). I havent had a problem with the defroster lines, however

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
