GTO FLOP

GM says it expected to sell 18K GTO`s this year and they only sold about 9K.

looks like they fvcked up.

HEY GOOD IDEA lets get rid of the camaro/transam that "supposidly" didnt sell good for a POS family looking car that sells even worse blew up in their face.

Yea, everybody was excited for the GTO's return until you actually saw it

the body styling its "ok" i wwas thinking of getting the new 05 gto 6.0 but i dont know i rather buy a truck then drop 30-40k on a 2 door.

Pontaic wanted a "Pontaic" look to be on all the cars.

So the GTO looks exactly like a 1999 Grand Prix!

Sure, the addition of a few HP (up to 400) and hood scoops aren't going to save it.

Heck, the mercury marauder got 1/3 of those sales with almost no marketing, 2 more doors, 100 less hp, and you could walk out the door with one for $27k. To top it off people will never think you're in a G6....they'll just think you're a cop!

Looks like a glorified sunfire to me.

i dont know what made GM think that people that were used to buying a z28 or trans am would go for a POS looking family car. so what its got a ls1 in it so did the camaro and trans am and they sold better

2. appearance - this thing is the ultimate sleeper - kinda wish they hadn't caved in to the hood
scoop lobby.

3. buy a truck instead? anybody who would consider buying a truck instead of a performance
automobile is just plain hopeless - I won't even bother trying to explain, but I'm sure there's
a six pack of Bud somewhere with your name on it.

4. drive the thing - you're in for the kick of your life unless you happen to regularly drive a
top fuelie or pilot an F-111.

I'm sure you guys have tinted the new GTO's by now. Any special things to look out for? Tips/Tricks/Secrets? A friend of mine that I haven't talked to in a few months called me out of the blue and I told her I was tinting windows now. She told me she just bought a GTO and she wants me to tint it for her.

KEMBLE its a very easy car to tint no worries on this car.




I will ahve to say the 2005 model is alot nicer, this is the car they should have came out with in the first place, looks ALOT nicer and with more horsepower, brakes, exhaust, and some cosmetic changes, i thought the 05 looks more like a sports car than the previous models.

what the heck is this doing in the GMC FORUM mods moved it to the wrong forum

here is a 05 i tinted a few months ago, i think with some deep lipped rims on this car it could look badazz.

I h@te GM, everything they touch they ruin. The GTO isn't even a new car, all GM did is take an existing vehicle from there Australian division Holden, slap the GTO name on it and hope it sells...

GM will gladly slap the GTO name on anything because they think the GTO name will cover up the fact that the car is fugly, and not even a new model. ("it has Street Cred")

I am glad it's not selling, if they would have done it right and actually put some time into creating a new platform and design I am sure the car would have been much more successful.

The only thing good to say about the "GTO" is the engine in the 2005's, the 400HP Corvette LS2.

I pray that GM soon tanks and disappears forever, like Oldsmobile...

Holden has announced that they will cease production of the Monaro soon (thats what we call the Pontiac GTO here). So I guess thats the end of the GTO.

I am selling my 96 T/A now, (the last one in our collection)

I've kinda been leaning towards a new GTO.
They are a low profile hotrod, it doesn't scream "look at me"
like a Vette or a T/A does.

I don't want to be noticed, I just wanna go fast.

Havin drama dry shrinking the rear of GTO Aus Model. Has this stupid bloody rear spoiler comming off the roof which is in the way and the bloody spears are massive. Any ideas????

What you saying Willis??? That's good Aussie design from downunder so you too can have the drama of fitting it in one piece.

I dont know about all that...If u have taken one apart..you will realize its not manufacuted in cheep GM quality grade work...they were more well thought out..in general..to bad they dont look cool at all..

I guess if people wanted to buy a POS family looking car they would go buy a Mustang. Besides a stock Goat will walk all over a Pootang and carry just as many kids in the back seat.

Does everyont tint over the dots on the top of the bg or just cut up to them?
