Full Version: CTS!
Cant believe no one has posted this one up yet. Boy...the new Cadillac CTS back glass sux...I am trying to figure out if there is anyway around this thing besides taking out the rear seats and the deck....Sometimes i will cut it really tight and spray alot of soap and it will go...but some are tighter than others at the bottom and almost impossible to slide em in.....
Yeah these cars suck pretty bad. Pretty consistant with all caddys. I just take em in stride. RIP, TEAR, HACK. That seems to be the best way.
YEAH JUST SAVE YOURSELF HAVING TO TINT IT TWICE AND PULL THE DECK.
I USUALLY GET ABOUT AND EXTRA 30 OR 40 BUCKS FOR CARS THAT NEED TO HAVE THE BACK SEAT AND DECK PULLED OUT FOR EXAMPLE MALIBUS, IS-300'S
I cant believe you didnt read the earlier POSTS!! lol... it has been talked aout, a lot.. and yes the back deck sucks. and inconsistent too.. some are ok, some the deck comes up and inch on the glass.. but since when do yiou have to pull decks on IS300's ? get a longer tool to reach behind the speakers... not that bad.
How about the rear headrests??
if i remember right there's a c-clip (like on manual window cranks) that holds the headrests in. push the top of the seat down enough and you'll see where the c-clips are that hold the headrests in. once you pop those out the headrests slide right out.
do NOT flash the fuzz on the deck with 'da heat gun
it will turn brown and STINK its goat or camel hair or something QUOTE (zolar @ Mar 4 2006, 12:51 PM) do NOT flash the fuzz on the deck with 'da heat gun it will turn brown and STINK its goat or camel hair or something [*]378411[/*] Well now!!! Sounds like some one not only got a lil close on a fur burner but also knows what a flaming goat or camel would smell like!!!! Atta boyeeee!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()
I did an 06 CTS today, and it was the first one that I didnt have to remove the rear deck on. It was tight, but it was possible. They are so much easier without taking that damn thing apart. Maybe they are making them a little better now? Or maybe I just got lucky. Knowing GM, its gonna be luck.

Rich [*]386843[/*] Congrats dude, I'm going to have to say you got lucky. They are very few and far between that they arent tight
ive never pulled one out. i just wiggle them in there. i can only remember one time it gave me trouble. what i h@te the most is having to take off the antenna on the older ones.
I to have been lucky so far but it seems to me te CTS V is the one withthe reallyjacked up rear deck
:Just finished an 06 CTS and the rear deck was about a half inch above the bottom of the black border, i slid the film in but it was tight and a pain! But the onstar antenna on the roof is a major plus on these cars!
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
