Full Version: 03 accord 4 door
here's how i do the little windows on the back doors of the 03 4 door accords. as everyone knows, they have the back corner that is impossible to get to. so here's step-by-step instructions on how i do it.
pull the rubber back at the top of the door. there you will see a small TORX 15 screw. take it out, and don't lose it.
next, roll down the door glass, and pull back the rubber channel. this will allow you to pull the post away from the small glass about 2-3 inches.
next, pull the glass forward, the rubber gasket will come with it.
then pull the glass toward you, about two inches, like the picture. then lift up. glass will come out very easy.
tint the glass, cutting the film close to the edge all the way around. let it sit in the sun, or hit it a couple times with the heat gun. put the rubber back around it. IMPORTANT--make sure you clean off your fingerprints, water, ect. from the tint. once you put the rubber back on, you can't get to it to clean it.
install the glass in reverse order, the same way you took it out. only important thing when putting back in, make sure you get the little metal peice back over the top, like the picture.
and here's the way it looks once it's back in place. it's alot of extra work that no one appreciates, but it makes the job alot cleaner and nicer.
Thats the way I do em. The Honda dealership near me has an inhouse tinter. HE BLOWS! He just cuts em short....looks like shiot. Tint is one aftermarket item that can make or break the look of a car. With a nice professional job you can make an old car look new. with a half ass crappy job you can make a new car look like an old piece of shiot.
cool tip tts. thats some doos shiznet
man, and my honda dealer called me today with 8 more cars...most of them are the 4 door accords....maybe i'll start doing that....and i don't blow, i just don't feel like taking the back doors apart....but i'll try one to see how it goes....never know
Wow, very cool TTS
i forgot to add, the door panels DO NOT have to come off. this is an easy 5 minute process that makes it look ten times better.
i got 1 tomorrow and froday
hell ya, next one i get i'm doing it that way too
Its real F'n quick too.
did one today, worked great.
got one tomorrow, thanks for the advise tts. ill try it and let you all know how it goes, cause if i can do it anyone can.
all in all it went pretty well. had a little trouble with the first one but got easier with the second one. this is the only way to do these glasses by far.
hey tts if you dont mind me asking, what kinda film is that you put on that honda in the pics in this thread? looks really good.
llumar ATR CH (llumastar)
Now I feel like calling all my old customers and have them bring the cars back to let me redo those!
So I am looking to get this vehicle tinted. Is getting that back glass removed something that I should ask the tinter if he/she does?
Also, do you guys know of a tinter in the SF Valley that is reputable? QUOTE (Braud Spectrum @ Nov 5 2003, 10:58 PM) not the riviera. leave those alone. you don't want to remove those. and to the post above me. WTF? remove the back glass? are you insane? if you ask a tinter that, he'll probably run you off. we're talking about quarter glasses.
I do understand that we were discussing the quarter windown. The pictures in this thread made that very clear.
I ended up going to a place called Sunshiled Glass Tinting, and they do remove the quarter window from the vehicle. Also, they use Llumar tint, which I understand is a reputable brand of film?
yes llumar is a good film. llumar has several different types of film, do you remember which one they told you they used?
AT charcoal ATR charcoal ATR stealth centaur platnum plus any of these would be a good cholce, and each one has a different look.
I think he showed me the charcoal stuff. My vehicle is that graphite pearl and the interior is gray, so I think that is what I will be going with.
Also, I told him about this site and that he should come on here and promote his business. These guys have been around for years. Thanks for the information.
my god, that looks so easy. I work at a Honda Dealership and now that is the way ill be doing them from now on. I have just trimmed them as close to the curve on the 1/4 glass as I could and they turned out ok. Now Im gonna be doing this all the time. Stupid me for not even thinking about that way.
Thanks for the idea.
I know this is an old topic, but this thread would save me some time if the pics show. The pics don't show anymore. Does anyone has the complete photo walkthrough?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Bump...anyone please?
I used this method yesterday on an '05 Accord. Turned out awesome. It was a little time consuming. It looked like I was going to break the window getting it out of there. Once I put the windows back in, I just had to make sure all the rubber gaskets were where they needed to be.

I can't find that frickin torx screw, any help? thanks
It's at the very top of the door under the rubber seal , pull up the rubber above the post of the window and you will see a torx screw or a phillips screw it could have either one .
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
