Just curious what the percentage of single pane vs. sealed units you folks are tinting.
Here, its 90% sealed units and 10% single. 7 years ago it was more like 80% vs. 20% Same thing going on south of the boarder?

Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like things are the same in most areas. I thought those of us up north were the only ones who constanly have to deal with sealed units.

bad mojo. those things fail all the time even without tint, but once they are tinted you can be sure the tinter will get the blame.

Even the IWFA (for what they're worth) funded an independent study comparing an IG (Dual pane) window with film to one without film and the results were the IG unit will fail without film as easilly as with film.

Dumb arses who consider themselves sperts in the field think it's energy efficient to use dual pane even in Florida dwelling construction.

NOT!

IG's insulate better against the cold and do little to nothing for solar heat gain. Oh and ah, IG's are great for filtering noise.

Otherwise... they can keep 'em. They are troublesome windows in this tinters opin.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
