Got one this week any tips would be appreciated?? Back glass looks easy, just really the door windows? and pulling the panels?
naughtydog
I've not done one but I dont pull panels, I would imagine you can pop the panel back and pull out the rub rail.

I'm going to a range rover dealerto do some electrical work, I'll have a look at the panels then.

Devil with bad attitude
TW,
I have a new Disco 5 door 3 it's called to do next week.
All the carrying area looks a soda but it's the doors.
The edge is recessed in by a frame up to 1/2" which makes it hard to get right in without film creasing.
And the interior seal at the bottom of the window level is tucked right into the corners. Are you saying that you can just bend it back enough for it to stay put and smack it back once tinted? Negating the need to remove the whole door trim?
Cheers,
Devil
SIR TINTSALOT
ain't done that one yet, but i ain't in to pulling apart brand new cars unless it has to been done

I have done loads of new discovery's, door trims peel back from the top to allow you to remove the de-mist rubber, just need to remove the screw behind the inside door handle. Rubbers are tight on the roll down windows so I make sure they are well soaked before fitting the film. Back screen and cargo windows need slight wet shrink.

Hi all,
Just did one today.....

Pulled the door panels(rears only), easy to take off....

1 screw behind door opener handle thing,

then look at the big handle from underneath ( the handle you would use to pull the door shut from the inside ) and the trim on the handle just levers up and pops off......

there are 4 screws under there.....

then 2 more at the bottom of the doors, one each side.......

then get your trim tool under panel and pop it off.

The panel dosen't need to be lifted up at the top, just pull it toward you and that's it!

Pretty easy car to do, but had to shrink the back glass and 2 cargo area windows a little, but still easy.

Take the rear wiper off with a 13mm socket to make life easier.

Cheers

I remove one screw behind the plastic with airbag written on it, and one behind the opening handle. Then give the door panel a tug at the top to remove it from its metal clips. You can then gently prise up the trim that in the way of your tint.

First year sunroof glitch with 05 LR3 was solved with a buy back on the wife's LR. Fbigeyes.gif . I have plenty of happy LR3 O6 clients. thumb.gif Never thought I would see the day these bloody Land Rovers [all of them], would be so popular in N.Y. metro area thumb.gif 2 out of 3 is not bad.

LRofvers are becoming ery popular, I have an old one about a '62 model out back, that a storage customer
has abandoned, I've been thinking about starting the paper work and then possibley restoring it........

It looks like the ones from ace Ventura's 2nd movie.
jpwindowfilms
So easy. BG hardly needs shrinking.

Even the door vents are bonded in so no messy trimming round annoying rubbers. One of the easiest new cars to tint? I think so, its like printing money doing these!! thumb.gif

Useful thread just had a regular custy ask me to do one of these and i didn't like the look of those rear doors!

Feel a bit better about doin it now!

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
