just a quick question to see what type of performance do any of you guys do if any and what type of vehicle do you specialize in?

Headers, custom exhaust, bolt ons of all sorts, computer diagnosics and repairs.
We have a friend opening a Dyno/ Tuner Shop that will be doing LS1 edits and dyno tuning. We do their graphics, tinting and interior upgrades, pipe bending and and other exhaust work, tires and things they do not have the equipment for.
We sell some computer tuners for trucks but thats about it. I love drag racing-Muscle cars only-not into the ricers! Nothin like a big block chevy hosed up with a ton of nitrous! The import scene here in east Texas seems to have disappeared!
the import scene here in san diego is still alive it just changes as the market changes but we stay pretty busy.
Thats cool! Around here it never amounted to much more than graphics, window stickers, large tailpipes, and maybe a rear spoiler! Kids in our area now drive 4x4s jacked up to the sky!But hey-I'll work on whatever rolls in!
yeah its kinda crazy over here i do alot of motor swaps, custom turbo kits, nitrous, custom suspensions, headers and a bunch of other stuff but yeah its stays pretty busy out here especially with all the kids that are now into the jdm (japanese domestic market) look so we make good money on taking some hondas and making them look how they look in japan.

dkent you into the import scene?
My company doesn't do performance work, but I do it personally. I've done pretty much anything on every car I've owned. Right now I'm building up an '03 Cobra convertible and a '05 M3, each for their own purpose.
(solareclipseauto @ Jun 27 2005, 10:51 PM) dkent you into the import scene? [*]294204[/*] Yep, I guess I would be considered a ricer cause I have an import? My winter car is American so im an Americer? I'm not in to I'm the guy who takes out his whole interior and passenger seat just for a one day track event at Pocono Raceway in PA. All my mods are performance related, straight pipes (cat eliminators), lightweight wheels, flywheel, clutch, diff, etc... Eventually I'll go FI with my car, but I still have a lot of warranty time (its a model year), and as it is now I spent toooo much $$ on tires, I got in a bad habit of power sliding/drifting every turn I can find... (solareclipseauto @ Jun 28 2005, 07:27 PM) [*]294441[/*] i don't have the wife or kids yet, thats why I'm doing this crap while I can. At the shop I was involved with we did a lot of installs like yours. Then we offered automotive film for a few years but never made enough $$ to keep it going. I was with two others people in the deal and things didn't end well. Now I tint at car shows or get customers at meets and events as a second job in the summer, mosty.
i wish i could still do the same things i did in the past. my wife use to love going to the track and car shows with me but she cant stand it anymore but she knows i love cars so she doesnt say anything. but like i said ealier i get so much joy and satisfaction when a car i worked on hits a good time at the track, a car at a show places or if i get a magazine mention for my work.

[*]294506[/*] Knowing your a top notch tuner is good feeling!
I had a magazine mention, it’s in a Z enthusiast mag called sportZ Magazine, the mention was regarding film installation, real brief, but it was a start.
we have a couple in some of the import magazines for some performance work and a couple mentions on some websites for our work and i have even had some customers who i thought were close enough to call friends burn me and not even mention me or put my sticker on because other bigger companies gave them a bunch of stuff for free and i guess it was screw me. now i make them sign contract if i am giving them parts at cost or free labor and they get a photo shoot or something and i dont get mentioned or my sticker is not on the car im gonna sue them.

(solareclipseauto @ Jun 28 2005, 10:41 PM) what suspension are you runnin? [*]294565[/*] Factory Z comes stiff like a mug from Japan
i did one with a tein suspension from japan, the customer was very impressed with it but it cost some money.
(solareclipseauto @ Jun 28 2005, 10:40 PM) nice rims are they bronze or hyper silver, they match the car well [*]294561[/*] The Silver ones are the factory rims, I got the NISMO (Rays/Volk) bronze wheels late in 04. (solareclipseauto @ Jun 28 2005, 10:46 PM) i did one with a tein suspension from japan, the customer was very impressed with it but it cost some money. [*]294572[/*] Depending on what type you get tein kits range from 700-2400... expensive stuff. I need to start doing some suspension mods soon, I have a good connection with a NISMO dealer so I will most likely go the NISMO R suspension.
one of my customer has the white volk te37s on the same color 350z. i think he has a 20x10 on the rear and 19x8.5 in the front

its a show car, plus he got them cheap from volk because he was able to get a partial sponsorship
(solareclipseauto @ Jun 28 2005, 11:16 PM) its a show car, plus he got them cheap from volk because he was able to get a partial sponsorship [*]294593[/*] Is this his car?
its like that but he has all kinds of stickers all over it. ill take a picture next time he come by.
the guy who ownes that car is somewhere in san diego, that why i asked.
it could be it before all the stickers and crap, but i think his back rim looks bigger
yea i don't remember if his were 20" or 19" for the rear, I agree those look like 19 all the the way around.
most likely not the same person.
that car is still clean though. being in san diego i see alot of people with crome 20" on 350s and the g35 i think to myself what are these people are thinking

But the stickers really p1ss me off, then you look in side and its an automatic, with 400lbs of subwoofers and neon lights and crap.
shizz i wasn't logged in.
