Devil with bad attitude
Got called out to quote a home I did about 11 years ago in Madico Clear 400 security film.
On questioning the same owner "how it has been holding up?" He replies "good except for one pane." icon_confused.gif

Facing due west with no eave, a group of 4 large panes side by side are still excellent except for one.
It is full of adhesive failure bubbles redturbo3.gif fdup2.gif about the size of an inch in diameter. wtfbiatch.gif

Why is this so? And why does this happen?

This is not a rare occurrence for I have seen it often in Madico PS film over the years. All the same the performance has been darn good.

I have my suspicions and had an experiment in the works to confirm or dispell my theory, but the tornado that hit here last fall took away the glass panels I'd had out in the sun for almost a year. duck.gif

Still have yet to begin the experiment again. wall.gif

Stay tuned... I may have input sometime next summer... dunno.gif

i would bet money it is from a different roll. did you look to see if there was a heating vent beneath the window? that can also play a factor after 11 years.
VO|TRON
they dont need heaters in australia, its 1000 degrees all the time.

Right V!!!!!!!!!!!:lol

But I agree with tintwitch that it must be from another roll and that one was bad.
I've got the same ongoing thing happening with a domestic install of their product with CLS 200 XSR museum film.
Just one bunch of windows, the rest are OK hmmmmmmm.gif

Very strang, Dev....

I've seen something similar with sun garb poop.gif many years ago. Two houses on the same block. One two feet off the water of a sparkling lake and the other facing a field. And using the same roll, the one on the lake disintigrated within a year. The scratch coat turned to powder and was flaking off everywhere and the other looked ok. I'm guessing it was due to the added solar energy from reflecting off the lake, but still seems strange. Maybe it was just a contaminated spot along a roll?

BTW whats your theroy metint?

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
