BELEIVE IT OR NOT FELLAS there is alot of money to be made on the weekends at a flea market... i have had a location at a smaller flea market now for 11 years....on an average we do 25 cars per weekend.we have a very reputable business....and hand out over 250 business cards per weekend..which brings in business to my 2nd location mon-fri...i could tell you now that this is not for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!i have had some very good window tinters come through my shop for work,,,but in the end they all think its too busy...as a business owner i dont think it could ever be too busy..so i do a majority of the work myself, with help from another very good window tinter....we do more in one weekend than most shops in town do in one week.heres the scenario:low overhead for rent...means more profit...if you would like to know more on a venture like this feel free to drop me an email twohotty66@comcast.net later scott PRO WINDOW TINTING & GRAPHICS :

Just today my GM told me about a Miami Flea market tint sl*t price? 49 tacos for a car and had rows of cars waiting I told 'em they should hire some Miami guys I won't tint 2 fronts for 49 I wonder if that film is purple out of the box Stupid 6th grade economics tells ya Charge more per car and do less cars who would want to make less, and work yourself to death you would have to do 25 cars to equal 6 cars here short bus, retarded, kinda buisiness plan. Did he ever say he was doing them cheaply with cheap film like everyone else?
I'd do it, but I'm not quick enough yet. I could only do two cars a day tops.

(darkdan @ Aug 25 2005, 01:46 PM) Did he ever say he was doing them cheaply with cheap film like everyone else? nope...but there's only one type of buyer at a flea market, the person looking to spend nothing for something.

Maybe Protint takes his regular price for top quality film and I am sure top quality work, marks it up 20%, posts this at the flea market with an offering that reflects a 15% discount. Simple math would then show an additional 5% profit over his regular price which would cover booth rental, and satisfy those bargain shoppers at the flea market. Everybody wins that way.
If quality is not compromised and it works, more power to you.

im curioous as to your setup, you have some sort of enclosed booth right...i dont think anyone you'll just roll up for tint under a $50 canopy in the wind and all the flea market atmosphere. like mountainmang said if it looks like a pimp setup then i cant see any reason people wouldnt go for it. Dont people walk around at the markets?

We have a guy that does flea market cars in my area. He does them for 99.00 complete. He uses cheap stuff and it turns purple within the year. I tell customers you get what you pay for, and some dont seem to care. So there is a market for it. It's a completely differant clientel from the usual tint shop owner is used to. I could profit from that market, but I dont speak spanish at all. I wish that I could. TD

It's hot enough inside my shop, I would not want to be tinting inside of a big tent or canopy when it is 105 degrees. Not my cup of tea, but I know some guy in my town goes out there and does it....I guess I feel like that would be lowering my standards and I don't need money that bad.

If you make money and like the work------------------ sounds like you have a "good thing" going on! What part of the world are you in? Some parts of the world works better than others using your setup.

In my neighborhood once in a while you see a tint setup under a canopy at the flee market. but after 2 weekends they vanish. I know there,s two much dust and farts flying around in the wind to keep it clean. but if you can overcome those problems and stand the heat up to 110 degrees then i guess you got it going on man. and to LB55 i would like to say i saw your video on tinting whith a torch. at first when i had only heard ( read ) about it i thought someone was pulling my leg. NO WONDER there is so much hype about you in this forum there all JEALOUS of you . there mad as HELL your the meto meto.. me im just a rookie i dont claim to be nothing im not, but i also just found out your from california not new york. so very soon im taking my lincoln to you so you can hook it up and i can watch your technique in person. i used to weld and i welded at very high heat ( all the way up ) i remembered it was all about angle and direction and constant fast movement...and it hit me thats what your doing . i will see you within a month dont worry about sending me your address i can find the devil himself if i need to.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
