the flame lives on...
before anyone calls me on it....
no its not legal, yes its a showcar for a local speed shop
nice! I was thinking boy are they going to give u a hard time , but its a showcar ;)
the thing sits in his shop, unless its a trade or car show.....
and its still only 30 on the fronts....aside firm the flames they end up a lil darker.....and red
looking good
Very nice work
That is off the hook!
Looking good dude.
i woulda stopped @ the sides. cust wanted the back too though (a bit over the top). fun hand cutting flames when theres them damn defrosters. didnt so much as knick one.
over all.....i was happy as well as the customer. almost 11 hours later. i dont mind though, i just came off a roughly 100 mile radius, 7car, tintin tour, doing mobile work in my old home town last weekend. (yes they all pay more for me to drive down there, plus i get to write most of it off). this car was a nice break, zone out, just cut and be creative. not the usual same ol same ol.
nice
Very Nice ROOK !!
I got to flame 2 roll-ups friday on a truck I love the graphics, but I will be hatin' them again saturday Z
lets see some pics man.....
a plagurist copies directly.... an artist steals it and makes it better... you cut by hand? wish i could pull 2 graphic jobs a week. im the only guy within 100 miles that can do em clean, and not quite so out of the box, internet pattern cut. pretty much gottem over the barrel
I cut 'em by hand too
I'll get some pix of 'em when I'm done. I am going to try to sell them on light ghost flames Like this one from Supreme Jedi Master Blade Click to view attachment Z
looks great

Fvckin cool boyeees!! None of my customers want to pay for flames
explain what goes into doing it....
lets see. tint the car three times....all the cuts inbetween (a car in itself). full cost x4 = 3 other cars you couldnt touch that day because you want a one off original peice of art
thats cool

My flame customers are TOIGHT in the wallet bigtime! I tell them what it takes, and
i hear ya....they are far and few between.
gotta know how to sniff em out. the ones who ask, arent always the ones ho can afford. QUOTE (ninjatinter @ Aug 23 2005, 05:17 PM) Fvckin cool boyeees!! where do you guys get the color tint from?
QUOTE (DarkSideTint @ Aug 24 2005, 12:59 PM) where do you guys get the color tint from? [*]308510[/*] global has a good selection, also sun gard and solux
i got the last 25 feet of red, yeller, and green from suntek....they outa the cullered tint paper biznizness
Great job! The two tone looks really nice. I couldn't imagine cutting those by hand. Seems like you'd have a lot of time wrapped up in them. We've got a Plotter cutter. Makes my job a lot easier once I get the graphics in to the computer.
QUOTE (zolar @ Aug 26 2005, 04:24 PM) like the way you used the fader.....different kinda look. gots me tinkin
That F350 was a quickie
about 1 1/2 hours Thats why the flames aren't quite perfect but, it turned out O.K. and the customer was happy Z
plotters are nice for speed....just aint the same as by hand.
i think the slight flaws in cuts make them look more smooth and real....not so synthetic. plus i like the fact that you get new ideas for the next time while youre cutting. a mistake can turn into a nightmare, or it could make it the mona lisa. wait till my next flame job (2 weeks) you wont beleive the 2 tone effect. i cant wait
those flames are kick azz lookin Z

my beer fridge.............hand work sux, pretty hard to find someone with pockets that deep.
i sell to the corprate world..........much deeper pockets
interesting glassfx
It looks great. One question though. Is it plotter cut?
QUOTE (yellohx @ Sep 6 2005, 04:18 PM) It looks great. One question though. Is it plotter cut? [*]311909[/*] hand cut only, here.
dude, i totally dig that. so what do you use for the red? just red tint? also, do you just layer it under the door piece? i have been wondering about that, an have had a couple cust askin bout it too ..
any info is appreciated... also realy dig the tribal,on roll ups like pic rookie has, subtle is good.. hehe QUOTE (tint rookie @ Aug 23 2005, 12:05 PM) before anyone calls me on it.... no its not legal, yes its a showcar for a local speed shop [*]308266[/*] Sooooooo.... the car was trailered to your place and trailered back to his shop, right? I like the red flames I do ghost flames, I have never used the color tint.. looks like I might have to get me some.
dont let people know you have colored tint right out the barrel.
otherwise thats the first thing they'll ask for. on all the glass
hey swan, you work your own shop? just curious, im also out of ohio, near dayton.also interested in the ghosted flames etc. is it done in the same manner as he decribed? how do you layer the film, right over the other? or cut em out together, like a seam..
Just did the '06 today. Cake. The panels remind me of the Jetta. You don't have to remove them though, just the screw behind the door handle and pull the top back to remove the gasket. I pulled the first one, then realized that I didn't have to.
The BG is almost taller than it is wide, and the curve is constant, so it has some large fingers to shrink, but they're easy too. I like the hatch-back that is easy to access. It's not so deep, so the old suckers like me can get in and out easily.
[ fun hand cutting flames when theres them damn defrosters. didnt so much as knick one.
Not bieng a wise arse but why did you cut the flames inside would have been less risky and easier to do it outside
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
