Viper 791xv -Have one , i'm second owner, no warranty. NO CHANCE IN HELL !- of getting the previous owner to bring it in on warranty for me!{sore spot}
That being said,
I had nothing to lose, so I opened up the brain to check out the rattle. It was a little light blue round thing with 3 legs. I see 4 options :
1] get a new alarm-I wish I could but I took it in the a-! enough on the car and I just don't have the money,I just don't have it!-which sucks because I can't drive the car!{sore spot}
2}Get a new blue thing-Theres a number on it, but where might I get one? I can solder it in no problem, thats my trade.
3} Get a new brain{for the alarm} I heard mention of a refurb, where does one get a refurb? I was unaware I could get one of those, other wise , can I get a brain without getting the whole alarm? Where?
4}Can I send the brain out to be fixed by an authorized retailer? Or do they only do whats covered under warranty? If so any idea how much?I live in MN.
If any qualified person has an answer as to who and where for options 2, 3 or 4, please respond, I will be most grateful. I have read some of these responses and I realize that is how you qualified installers make a living but as i've explained my extenuating circumstances , my alarms warranty is void ! That being said , theres no need for that one guy to respond to me with his smart a-! remarks, all yelling at me for fu_!*ng up his Sh#!, okay?!
