Tinting a Toyota Matrix Back Glass ?

Custom Search

Hi,

We have done several Matrix's. The only problem is the back glass. In the rear there are 2 shocks.

How do other tinters do them without damaging the shocks.

When we removed them with a ficegrips they left teeth marks. When we tint around them there was a gap and customers complained.

Any ideas?

Thanks
cloppy
Hi,

Actually anyone taken off the 2 shocks without damaging them?
Jason
I take em off all the time. Theres a plastic nut on the inside, hold that, and use a deep socket to turn the ball that holds the shock on. I also completly remove the wiper motor on those.

I remove it all, doesnt take long. I usually cut a part of an old film tube the length I need and put a little notch in it. This is used to hold the glass up while installing (at the top of the hatch, 3-4" in length). I cut a circle around the shock holes about 1/6th an inch past the shock mount. dunno.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
