Full Version: distilled water
I was wondering if any body likes to use distilled water on autos or do you filter your water???
Shady ..you might want to edit your poll...it makes no sense because it's separate topics for choices
Or just use polls Sparingly...VERY sparingly.

No distilled water here. I am just lucky with clean tap water... no filtering either.
you forgot the third choice. "do you use a spray bottle"
Yeah i use it. The city water here sucks, you can actually see stuff floating around in it. Distilled water works good for me.
I also use baby shampoo.
#3
tap and baby shizz
tap water and an in-line fuel filter on my sprayer. dawn or baby shampoo.
J&J shampoo and filtered H2O here!
Keep the distilled water for your Scotch....outa da tap fa me.
Devil
A decent whole-house filter would quickly pay for itself compared to buying distilled.

The Manufacturers will not warranty any film if you do not use distilled water.
Read the fine print!
how can they tell?
QUOTE (1PEECBARETTA @ Jul 8 2007, 12:06 PM) [*]522349[/*] how can they tell? I'm sure they could check the adhesive to see if it has any minerals in it. But, as much fine print as I've read I've never seen any company that I use specify distilled water. Maybe this person should copy and paste it. I just use the old water out of my wash bucket after washing cars, that way it already has the soap added and ready to go...lol...ok, not really. Tap water and J&J.

i use an olfa, a squeegee, distilled, not distilled, nt, & an apple
once and a while an orange
vodka martini... shaken.
i used to use distilled water, but now that have a sink near by, i use that. and i dont really use jnj anymore, i mainly bounce btween ultra bond and film on. i find they leave the window looking "cleaner" without all the haze and streaks. i use a heavy amount of dawn in another sprayer just for cleaning..never applying.
Tap water in the city and bottled water out of the city(they have well water) and use JJ.
we took over an old gas station and all the water lines are filtered. baby shampoo
Tap water through a filter system - Film On or JJ
I just pee on the windows
tap water + j&j = perfect
You may wanna edit your poll buddy... and so far I've been using distilled H2O with JnJ baby soap (detergent free). Distilled will have 0 PPM (Parts per million), normal tap water can have up to 40 ppm of gunk... at least it can in my city. Think of it this way if you go to the car wash and you use regular water to rinse it off you get water marks on your car. Those water marks are from impurities in the water. Hot water is only worse because your hot water tank will build up calcuim carbonate and other debries over time and they randomly come out!
Tap water thru a filter and thru reverse osmosis and a filter on my tank .soap I will never tell, distilled water for films like v-cool or Solis if that’s what it is called this week.
Distilled water here
