It's always bugged me that SG proclaims the winner the best tinter in the world, not the best tinter that happened to be competing that day...it's a joke if you ask me.

The cleanest work with the fastest time, just doesn't make any sense to me.

The winner will end up being some loser that got to bed at 10 pm in VEGAS because he has no friends. Everyone else will be shot.

My favorite trophy would have to be the one for the "Most Improved"......talk about a kick in the nuts if you ask me. Basically they are admitting you sucked in the beginning, but now you just don't suck as much, but still suck nonetheless. Bastards.

Attendees of auto install class want a certificate after completion whether they have the knack or not. We obliged with "Successful completion of Auto Tint Beginner Installation" up until one pointed out that they would still have that on their certificate 5 years after finishing class (hanging in the shop for all to read).

Now they read, "Successful completion of Auto Installation Class I"....

yeah I do alot of custom graphics but that house of TINT guy gets down something major! I'm feeling blades work too, really impressive.
I wouldn't enter but I would love to see what the competition looked like.

Complete joke is right. The only decent tint off that I know (I have seen many around the world but not all I admitt) is the LluLlu European Tint Off where the 3 best tinters (National tint offs) of 15 countries compete. Although there have been competitors that buy from other manufacturers the official title is LluLlu European champion.

Hell, a friend pointed out that in my gallery pics of me competing in the 04 SG west tint off, that there is a guy in a red shirt leaning all over the back of the car while I'm trying to tint the door. I wanted to say something, but was too focused. I looked back at the photos and laughed! Who would've tolerated someone leaning and moving the car around while your trying to tint a door, let alone with 50+ watching you!?My Webpage

The thing I see about TINT OFF's is that there are too many big heads that come out of them. There is a fella up here that thinks Florida is going under because he isnt there. I dont see why it is such a must to have these things. I think the best tinters take time. Every tinter I know tints a different way and these events only discurage tinters who dont tint that particular way. I take my time but speed is there if it is needed. example, Yesterday I had a 1999 toyota camery that took 3 hours to strip and retint because I wanted it to look good. Later yesterday I had a fella bring an 05 300c it took all of 47 minutes to do because he had another appt. to get to.
