Actually, It freezes up on me some mornings when i first go to use it, but a quick reset takes care of that.

The tech support is great.

I love my graphtec, never had a problem yet. the gerber plotters are nice for sign work,

Graphtec FC 5100-75, 30in is what I ended up buying, but I used Roland pen plotters for years when I was drafting with AutoCad.

I like them both cause I've had no real problems with either of them.

When I set up my account with my vinyl guy here in town, he asks what plotter I use, when I told him he said, "In 10 years, you'll be happy you made that choice".

That was his twocents.gif and mine.

I had an IOLINE classic 24" plotter that i used for 9 years that was trouble free-sold it for what i paid for it! Gotta win one every now and then!
signjoe
Roland - all I ever used in 15 years in signs.
Got a 54" and an 18" for mobile work and shows etc.
Great cutters and easy to use.
Cheers

I have Something called a Design Tech 60 which I believe it is a same thing as the Graphic tech CE3000Mk2 From the spec's and the picture that I have seen. It was a bit cheaper but works great for me. But then again i am still learning how to use it.

I use to use my buddies suma D760, but I finally bought my own a vinyl express lynx 24". It's one of the cheaper ones but so far it works good. I wanted the Panther but funds were low at the time.

Here's my machine... Summa Eclipse P2C
http://www.ndgraphics.com/product/964.aspx

I've had it for 2 years now, mostly use it to cut frosted films (logos, stripes, curves etc.) Used to do it all by hand... http://www.cooltint.com/frostedprivacy.html
bigkernel44
Mimaki CG-FX130

Tons of useful goodies, great for pouncing patterns, thick spray mask materials, polystyrenes etc. Waaaay overkill if your just going to cut tint though =P

Roland...switched from roland to ioline once...but was back with roland within a year. Iolines suck....least for my twocents.gif
toodark
went the CHEAP way at first and I kicked myself in the A$# for that. I bought a Master then went to a Graphtec. Best choice I had ever made.

The Gerber is the best IMO but pricey .
GodofWarII
What about Summa Cutters dunno.gif Low prices...cuts like the rest thumb.gif i still voted roland cause they're the best
TITAN500
I have a ioline smart trac. It has memory in it that allows you to cut the same pattern over and over, kinda nice if you are paying per cut on a PPF job.

I've owned my 24" Graphtech for just over 2 years now. Bought it from SignWarehouse with their VE LXi Master software. I run it about 3 hours a day cutting about 15-25 orders. Only problem I had with it was the grip roller was manufactured wrong. Had to send it in to Graphtech in California which left me without a plotter for about 7 days. Other than that it's still going strong.

I'm looking to upgrade to a 48" or bigger so I can double up on my jobs and do the same work in 1/2 the time.

I picked up a FC7000-100 42" Graphtec and have been love'n it for about 2 years now! thumb.gif

I am fairly new to vinyl cutting, so I bought a Vinyl Express Panther off of craigs list for $600.00 (still under warrenty!!), and I am using flexipro...So far so good, The software took me a few days to learn raster and vector, but I have come a long way! I have yet to test the tech support and hopefully won't have too!
tint whisperer
Graphtec - we have a 60" for graphics - excellent; we have a 40" for auto bay - excellent

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
