Full Version: don't do the TINT DANCE
today at my shop i saw something done that i havent seen in like 4 years. my partner told our cleaner to peal and bring in a suburban quarter glass piece in to him. he peeled it, sprayed it, peeled it off the board and then he proceeded to spin around two and a half times to get the right entry angle into the car. we call that the tint dance. hope you guys know what im talking about. luckily the window still came out clean.

The only "tint dance" I've ever done is if I've lost my grip on a piece during transfer from wall to window and I flail about to retrieve it without creasing it

forgot about those shinbusters for sure
Or trying to slip into a 2 door car with the entire back glass only to fall face first into the film into the back seat.
Nope, never done that (tintnfool @ Dec 28 2005, 12:55 AM) Or trying to slip into a 2 door car with the entire back glass only to fall face first into the film into the back seat. Nope, never done that [*]354399[/*] oh chiat that would suck (TintWizard @ Dec 27 2005, 08:56 PM) jams it so hard and high up into the testicles [*]354309[/*] Thought I read somewhere they were tinted? No (thermal) shock protection in the tint, eh? On those quarters accessible only from the back end with no hands free, I usually sit backwards first and then walk in on each butt cheek individually till I get where I'm goin'. how about slippin' on a wet release liner. wwwoooo hoooooo.
that would be tint break dancin' or sumpin like that.
Oh jeez! have done all of the above several times!! Face-plant into a backglass piece after getting hung up on a seatbelt is my fav!!! I h@te TRAILER HITCHES!!!!!
(TintWizard @ Dec 27 2005, 05:12 PM) The only "tint dance" I've ever done is if I've lost my grip on a piece during transfer from wall to window and I flail about to retrieve it without creasing it [*]354244[/*] I have to agree with TW. I worked so hard at improving my quality and reducing dirt, and in my shop, the only way to do that is reverse-rolling (when you have a mechanic with an acetelene torch behind you). And trying to catch everything I drop has been a nasty habit of mine in the past... like catching your blade when you drop it... that sucks. I have caught many dropped blades and knives, and have been lucky... most of the time.
I got caught on a trailer hich once holding a piece
and started to fall, trying to save the film I wound up upside-down, hanging by my twisted belt loop the stereo guys had to help me get off the hitch and the film .... sticky side down in the dirt (zolar @ Dec 28 2005, 01:03 PM) and the film .... sticky side down in the dirt [*]354620[/*] did you hose it off and put it on any way
on days when we're slow we put down a door glass liner and see who can slide the farthest down the shop. or who can make it out of the bay door. suprisingly it works better when the floor and the liner are dry. wet spots hang you up.
(tigerstripe @ Dec 28 2005, 03:37 PM) (zolar @ Dec 28 2005, 01:03 PM) and the film .... sticky side down in the dirt [*]354620[/*] did you hose it off and put it on any way [*]354639[/*] we've all tried to savem havnt we (1PEECBARETTA @ Dec 28 2005, 07:24 AM) how about slippin' on a wet release liner. wwwoooo hoooooo. [*]354443[/*] Thats the only tint dance I have ever done
is that similar to the thizzle dance?
