safety lock

Wifes 2001 CRV won't come out of park.not sure if it's the safety lock or not. Does anybody know, If so is it hard to change. Would appriciate any help on this. The car starts up but won't shift. Once i got it out of park,now it wont go back into park.

Just a suggestion..shut the car of..but turn the key over..have your wife attempt to shift it while you "rock" the vehicle back and forth a bit.

It could be something as simple as just the way it's sitting( had this happen to me 2 times before..just give it a shot..other than that..not much this tinter can suggest other than seeking a mechanic

true - not much mechanically inclined here
last time I had that happen though it was the shifter cable

OK, I am just a women, but this happened when the rear brake light (in the rear window) was shorted out when it was removed. It caused a lot of trouble here and took forever to figure out. Maybem maybe not!
