has anyone out there ever heard of film called v cool?
yep. its nice, it costs a bit more and its not security film.
(tintmaster1 @ Feb 9 2006, 08:59 PM) has anyone out there ever heard of film called v cool? [*]370401[/*] Yes i know what it is but what does it do? Yes i know what it is but what does it do? It reduces the amount of heat and UV coming through the glass.
Seriously though it is a film that offers a high VLT (70%) with a 55% TSER (single pane glass).
It looks pretty good, has a slight green tone to it but not bad. If you live within 35 miles of any body of salt water you have to use an edge seal or else the edges will corride. They may have modified the distance, it's been awhile since we've used any. Personally I like the look of Bekaert's HiLite film or CP's Vista Select better, but that is just MY OPINION. Its made by Southwall Technologies, the same company that makes Huper Optik, and its spelled V Kool. Hope that helps.

Looks good with corrosion.
Devil (Devil with bad attitude @ Feb 9 2006, 10:54 PM) Looks good with corrosion. Devil [*]370431[/*] Our humdity is 15-25% I have never seen it corrode.
Well I've even got it corroding in its own swatch sample. ...beat that! Not a piece of glass near it let alone the beach.
Devil.

I have seen it used on several government buildings here in Phoenix. I even bid against some guy here in town. V Kool has very strong and limited dealer market. It almost impossible to get to be a dealer in this part of the counrty.
