Tint Display for Your shop

I recently set up this display in my shop:

A local glass company gave me the windows for free, and I used the big rubber coated ladder hooks to rest them on. The hooks are screwed into the wall (studs only) and the glass leans against the wall at the top.

You’re not afraid that some retard customer is going to think to him "I wonder what it looks like looking thru it?" and boom it shatters. What if it falls on a child? Big Lawsuit. I would think about anchoring them at the top as well. Just my opinion.

Great Idea! I wanted to hang a Rear window done in pieces and one done in one piece but didnt know how to display them, harware wise, and you just helped a ton. Why not do what you did but also build out the top behind the glass so it looks more level and secured!

Don't get me rong I like the idea. It looks great. I have a back glass in my shop as well. i have it hanging from the ceiling behind my counter. It is hanging by 100lb. fishing line. It only waighs about 10 to 20lbs.

Wouldn't expect anything less from someone in distribution, now would we?

They are nice... thumb.gif

I didn't mean that the tops of the windows couldn't/wouldn't be anchored. I was just describing the way they are mounted so that they lean back.

dang free windshields? hope your guy doesnt ask for one of them back in a emergency. i wonder will customers ask if you can tint their windshields. formula one wants dealers to have a back window half dirty in pieces and half in 1 piece; why wouldn't you? but ultimately its up to you; i think marketing what you say the others do isnt a good thing. tell them only if they ask

One is a windshield, the other is a back glass. The windshield has a small stone chip that's barely noticeable, and the backglass' defroster is shredded. They still make good displays, though.

Personally, I'm not interested in taking up valuable space to display something that looks bad.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
