Many years ago when I did detailing, we had a van that came in from an insurance company. A person died in the vehicle. Very interesting smell.

I called the morgue and they suggested coffee grinds. We bought a couple of lbs of the cheap coffee and spread it all over. Closed the windows and let it sit overnight.

We detailed the interior including the liner the next morning. Smell was gone, car went to the auction and was sold that day.

yes the coffee grinds work well - and off the subject coffee grinds keep cats out of your flowers also

back to the subject - we used to use apples for cig smoke

cut them in 1/4's and place them in there -we finally broke down and bought one of those eliminator machines

Ozonator and drier sheets.
Then clean everything that's cloth inside the vehicle.

I smoke in my car like a chimney, but nobody knows it. The trick- regular cleaning on a weekly basis, and a box of dryer sheets under the seat. I wipe down absolutely everything, spray febreeze lightly over all the carpetting, and pull out the top sheet from the box every week. Car smells brand new.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
