i remove the liner then wash off the overcoat (detacifyer) then replace the liner before back rolling,
any different ways i could use??

When I installed NV35 I just backrolled normally.

I save the detact coat for the layup when I screw something up.

some are easier than others. with the re line roll out maybe 12 inches and wet the adhesive and slowly walk it down the glass using extra soap. spray more solution every 12 inches or so. you can "snap" the nv line in the air and the liner will release. have the window fairly wet. it will probably be necessary to pull the film back and spray the adhesive. i only reverse roll for large, unruly pieces that are too much for one guy to peel the regular way. its important to get the overcoat adequately flushed. i would think peeling the liner and replacing and then rolling is a time waster. if you can safely peel the film and spray it, why not go right into install? hope this helps.

i backroll all the 3M we deal with. which is usually NV and ultra security films.

i backroll everything flat.... i backrolled some sparkling frost vinyl today on a home job. nothing like backrolling that crap 36" wide and 6 feet tall. Flaugh.gif

just make sure you're spraying alot extra solution on the glass as you go. after one tack across the top it should be apparent whether or not you've wet the piece enough. peel it back one side and then the other and wet it some more if needed. you don't exactly need to be spraying solution directly on the adhesive until it floods to wash the overcoat off. you do have to get alot of solution into the space where the film rolls onto the glass. does that make sense?
blade, i had a nightmare sh2mamm white frost job the other day. various shaped arches going behind already installed metal studs in a shell of a building very much under construction. scissor lift, etc...

sweet got ya....
thanks for that

one more thing. if you squeege and see the occasional white streaky-like smear under the film get more solution in there.

that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, having to wash off the detackifier before installing. What a pain in the a55, and then having to get the windows super wet and the window sill that is going to get soaked and not to mention it running down the wall to the floor. Yes you can use a towel but after one window it's drenched. Who ever thought of that sh|t needs his a55 kicked.

i'm not getting the water running down the wall and general flood you describe. i don't consider working with detack films messy at all, but whatever...

i agree that it's ridiculous. i install the stuff like any other film i install. i dont treat it any differently and have had no complaints.

I don't really know any other method besides reverse rolling. Short of Frech Paines that is SOP. And I can honestly say I don't know first hand about detactifierage and hope I never do.
