remodeled car. back is now 31" tall and actually has some curve. the four doors have some curve too. i pull panels so i dont shrink them, but tuckers will have to. wings however, they are a biatch. they are large and go to a point like last years model. they have that trim like hyundais where it is hard to get the tint past the outer rubber portion. the rubber sits blundtly against the glass instead of at an angle. the panels are like the new IS and the new avalon, so they have those tlittle posts that get in the way when putting the panels back on. you can just yank on the tops really hard to release the stubborn clips that attach the rubbers to the door panel if you want to but you might be hesitant after you see how much pressure is needed to release those clips. it is also pretty hairy putting them back in because you could scratch the interior. i did one yesterday and one today. if any questions hit me up. sorry no pics
if you pull the panels...try hanking the 1/4s out...not that hard..an makes the job way easier..and cleaner..if they are anything like last years model..there should be a couple 10mm bolts on the inside skin that hold the window rail the seperates the roll up and the 1/4 glass..then there will be a philips/or torx screw under the rubber seal along the top of the door ..take those out..and the rail should slide out..and you can pull the 1/4 window out
I did my first one yesterday..I found the back window harder because of the little extra reach you have to do to get it on, I found the doors fine..after releasing the clips, all 4 rubbers come right out giving you the benefit of having the panel off without pulling them off
..and as mentioned ..the 1/4 windows a bit harder as well..but nothing a pushstick can't reach
what clips TW?

the rubbers are fastened to the door panel with these silver clips, just like the avalon and the IS. yank hard on the top. this last one i did today i didnt pull the panels, just yanked the rubbers out. the first one we pulled the panels, took the rubbers off the panels, tinted, put rubbers back on actual door then put panel back on.

thanks guys for the heads up

I do at least one of these a week, I find the rear glass a little tighter than the older model, quarters are cake, and doors are easy, just a little shrinking to do. I'll take 5 of these in a day to do anytime over some cars.
those quarters are a biotch!!!
I have no idea what you are all talking about. I am trying to think, I have done several and for the life of me I cannot say I have had a problem with that car.

done the 07 myself with no pannel pulling and did'nt have any complaints about the doors or the 1/4's the back glass is a bit longer but not as long as the Grand Prix or the GTO.
next time I'll see about pulling the chanel out.
just did one a few min. ago not too bad those 1/4 windows were not bad at all and the rest of the car is no worse than anythings else besides u gotta shrink the side windows
QUOTE (streetsounds @ Dec 4 2006, 02:45 PM) [*]452725[/*] besides u gotta shrink the side windows
Why is it you dont have to shrink the doors if you pop the tops off. The window is still curved a lil bit. I pre shrink even if i do or don't. Or are you just throwing heat on it while the tint is on the window? on the inside.
with those and most other doors, if you pop the top of the panel back or take out the rubber you don't need to shrink anything, you can stetch it and not have to worry about anything because there is nothing pressing up aginst the film to make it pop fingers, NO heat at all the only doors that see any heat from me is bugs and camaros and vettes

the whole car is a absolute cake walk and 1/4 and very easy and you dont always need to shrink the doors just stretch the corners, no need to take the panels off or anything.
Did an 08' last night. The side doors are easy, didn't have to pull seals or shrink. The back glass is huge though, it was starting to dry up on me. Need more solution next time, other then that it was pretty easy. It took a little while since it was the first one I've done.
i find them very easy. we do alot b/c theres a toyota dealer just around the corner. the 1/4's are a lil tricky. i just cut them exact fit and and the grey ez-reach is the best tool for them imo. the back glass is a lil big but not hard. i just slide the tint behind the brake light. the doors i just 50/50 after I snap all the cuts.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
