Full Version: Smart Car Anyone?

Hey Guys,

Any body out there tint a smart car lately? Just wondering how you found the back quarter windows to be since they're a type of plexi poly-carbonate something or other. heh.gif I have one here today, and just thought I'd check and see if there's some one out there with some advice.

Thanks!

draw the pattern on the release liner side of the film and then cut it out on your peel board. shrink accordingly and install. as is no warrenty on the plastic windows, but they may be fine dunno.gif get thaqt money my friend

Thanks for the help 1PEEC. I've done plexi before no problem, it's just these little buggers have a bevel around them, and the film is not sticking like other plexi I've done. AAHHH, Fridays are always interesting. Anyways, thanks again!

Just a recap in case anyone wants to know. In the end I blacked out the quarters with black vinyl, and it looked even better than factory. This is all that could be done for a clean look. Customer was very happy, and a frustrating job turned out awesome.

When you say you applied vinyl, was it inside or outside ? icon_confused.gif

It was applied on the inside of the tiny back quarter window. Looked very clean, and it doesn't really matter to apply the vinyl since it's not a window used for view anyway.

Damn i love those cars! As a 6'3 230 lbs man, I think I would break it. By the way, don't tint those windows, put vinyl on them. better for the long run.

whats the best way to heat shrink that small BG??
obi wan folie
Wet or dry whatever you prefer its a cake window my 14 year old step son did it last time rollin.gif

We did one last week. The quarter windows were the least of my problems. Just try to get those door panels loose! Forget that!!!! Just tape the W/S and save yourself a ton of trouble. Even tho they are frameless roll-ups, I wasn't able to get the film below the W/S. Don't forget to Heat shrink before installing!

cool, im getting one in this wek and was looking for some tips

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
