about 4-5 years back a rep showed this to me. he called it curling, its an easy way to shrink rollup doors without all the extra steps. you know when you shirnk a door you have to pull the film back , reposition it, and rewet it. well in curling you just roll it back up, pull the film back on the bottom and blow some heat under it to shrink it a little. it shrinks it just enought so you wont have fingers on doors. with a little practice you will know how much to do on certain cars. i never really adapted the style cause i pull panels and that lets me bluemax down fingers that most tuckers would have to shrink.

i sawe a guy mention this technique, and another called it BS. he did refer it to backglass though. but this technique is a good one if practiced enough, and it will save you plenty of time if you tuck rubbers. try and good luck.

some others referr to this method as the "down under shrink" thumb.gif

So you actually apply the heat "under" the film dunno.gif

yes

i usually line up the bottom. cut sides then top. roll the window back up. move the film up about quarter inch and then shrink. (only towards bottom) works fine for me.

yeah thats what i do. this other method takes away a couple of steps. you dont have to reshift and wet.

fingers can also be heated from inside the door if you use low heat and there is enough water behind the film so it doesn't get the adhesive to tacky, same method as back windows! If the fingers arent huge like the beetle

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
