Full Version: wheel/tires question
for my 91 chevy shortbed, i havent lowered it yet. but i came across a set of rally wheels and tires, tires are 8" wide for the front and 10" wide for the back. personally i think its badasss but i dont know if its going to rub when i drop it 4/6. he already told me its ok it will be fine, says he knows a chevy guru said it would fit perfectly. anyone had any experience with all this??
all depends on the offset of the rims
back spacing on the wheels 4 1/2
Tint a friend of mine put those on his 97 silverado with the 10" on the back and he had to add the spacers and he has been very unhappy with them
im gonna go get advice at a local tire shop. time is something i barely have during day. i'll try and visit a tire shop see what they say.
thanks for lil input there Mrp
Depends on the backspacing-I had a 92,94 95,96 that all had 4-6 drop. I always ran 9''rear wheels15" but i cant remembr the offset! These days i roll on 22s!!!!
(Mr paladin @ Apr 15 2006, 12:23 AM) Tint a friend of mine put those on his 97 silverado with the 10" on the back and he had to add the spacers and he has been very unhappy with them [*]391766[/*] Using spacers on a car that is going to see high speeds is NEVER a good idea. It will cause steering wheel viberation and extra stress on the HUB. Also look at how wide your rim is and make sure that the width of the tires you are tring to put on there aren't to wide for the wheel width to handle. Do a google search you can find all kinds of calculations that help you figure out what is safe for a selected rim/wheel width.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
