Hy. Tomorow I'm going to tint audi q7. Should I be careful about anything on this car.
Tnx for the answers.
i have not tinted one yet, but i have looked at one in the dealership. looks pretty straight forward. GOOD LUCK
Audi Q7 is tint, with no problems¨!
this has just been release in the U.k , im going on a off rally day in one next week.
Post pics of it when you've done it dregc
The easiest of all the Audis.
Pull off the door handle cover. It just pops off. 2 screws behind it. This releases the pressure on the door panel so you can pull the top of the door trim away from the door. The rubber gasket comes out easily. Apart from that, its a big car with a lot of glass. A BIG freakin car.
I've got 1 of these to do tomorrow, looks straight forward, the rear screen looks like a simple shrink but the spoiler at the top is slightly lower than the matrix line.
Did you just shrink the bottom and then move down and then shrink the top ? Thanks in advance Uncle Bob
Yes.
Thanks
I did one today, I left the panels on to tint it - came out lovely.
The back glass is an easy shrink but a little fiddly with the spoiler. Wire wool the glass first as the heater lines can cause puckers, this is very important on this car. my LLu rep has had issues wth these puckers. I soap shrink it nice and tight and it layed down sweet. NaughtyClick to view attachment

I don't understand!! Why people who pull panels don't remove the entire glass at once?? It's usually just 2 screws after you got the panels removed!!
I did'nt pull the panel - just popped it back.
I'm always a bit scared of scratcing the film when putting the window back in and I feel you get less dust in the job with the glass in the car. ? I like the look of your workspace - can you get me a close up of your film rack - looks awesome. Naughty
BTW, NB, the Q7 in my pic has 30mil on it (side windows), but we didn't remove the glass. The Audis (all of them), Porsche Cayenne and Touareg are WAY to complicated to take the glass out, so we just pull the panels on those. But usually, once the panels are off, you are just 2 screws away from taking the entire glass out.
The film rack looks good but it doesn't work good. Was my first attempt on designing one, next time around I know how to do it better...
Aaagh..so you don't always practice what you preech
I'v done a few of these now, dead easy, you'll find its only 4 x 10mm bolts hold that spoiler on, its far easier just to pop it off outa the way!
yeah cary easy! No shrinking on sides, and 10min work on the rear screen, doors cards pull off dead easy....
Got 1 next week, so see how it goes...
Done one before, and swear there was something fiddly going down with it.. maybe not?
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
