Full Version: Removing metal grids

xlabel
Has anyone taken off metal grids off openings that are several colonial windows to make it one piece off big film and put them back on later , if so what kind of tool or technique did you use. The plastic ones are easy to get off with a 4 inch on a handle , but it's hard to get the metal ones off without cracking a window or tearing up the grids.

hmmmmmmm.gif All I know is that if the grids are made to come off, then you can remove them farily easily without cracking glass.

Yep, metal grids are indeed a pain in the arse! wall.gif If they are wider than 3/4 inch, I have never been able to successfully remove them. You usually can remove the smaller ones, I have always used my olfa, and a lil' bit of paitence. All that holds 'em on usually is just a lil' bit of silicone! thumb.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
