SRT-4 BG shrink problems

I'm admittadly new to this tint game, and shrinking the BG of an SRT-4 is getting the better of me right now.
I use the dryer sheet method with an H pattern, and I divide the glass into 6 sections: 3 above the anchor line and 3 below. I start with the bottom middle, then do the bottom sides. After that, I do top middle, then top sides. When I start a section, I divide a large finger into two smaller ones - starting my shrink at the top of the finger and gradually pressing the whole thing out. Once I've got the large one or two fingers in an area done, I move to the next (sides usually).
I can get both top and bottom middle sections to lie down nice and flat, but when I get to the sides I run into some problems. The film doesn't want to lay flat seemingly no matter how hard I try.
Using Solar Gard HP Charcoal if it matters.
Any tips for this part?

Any tips for this part? That's a good film to shrink with, especially the 22. I think what is happening is you are getting too much film to shrink on the sides, caused by shrinking in the middle first. Try and work the film over from the sides to the middle. Kind of hard to explain, but pull the film towards the middle and hold it, and shrink from the sides inward. this will get more of the shrinking in the middle section of the glass where there is more film to shrink. the Neons, especially like to leave a lot of shrinking at the bottom sides, so try and pull the film away from there and shrink it. also, I would try either baby powder (my choice) or read up on their soap method, I think it will help you a lot.

Learn the Mdog soap method That was the B/G I learned on and its pretty hard to learn on but once you get it your life will be easier in the long run. Learn as much as you can on every shrink there will be a few. When you goof it up play around with it try things you normally wouldn't do. I learned the most this way then you will know the limits of the film. Keep at it it will get better

Thanks guys, I will try this tomorrow!
I'll try the soap method as well as shrinking from outside in. I will get this right!

Try to area shrink not just the fingers

Area shrink?
Ruh roh, that's a new word to me. Can you elaborate on that technique?

I say dont divide into so many sections!! A simple H-Pattern is all you need. Think about it like this, the more film you pin down, the less film there is to shrink up the slack!

When useing the soap its not like wet shrinking where you only shrink the fingers. Anchor you film the way you want. I say that because everyone does a little different. When the film is layed out on the glass move your heat gun over the film in small areas NOT just where the fingers are that way you get more shrink out of the film. Thats why the soap works so good because the film floats on the glass and shrinks all over not just the fingers. Tried to explain as best I could ask more if needed

Well, I finally got it! Took 3 sheets, but on third try I got a shrink that laid down when I squeegied it.
I shrank areas instead of focusing on the fingers, and that worked. It took me about an hour to do when it was all said and done. I wasn't using my free hand at all, just shrinking with the gun, did I do it right?
I have an old Wagner heat gun that SUPPOSEDLY goes to 1100 degrees. I doubt it's that hot anymore.
Do I need a hotter gun?
Also, I still ran into some trouble with burning the film when fingers would crease at their peak. Any tips to avoid that? Spend more time shrinking "valleys?"
I hope I make sense here..
And PS, thank you guys for your advice and help. You're true professionals and I'm glad to have a resource as good as this, I certainly now have a healthy respect for good tinters.

I hope I make sense here.. You did good but try useing your free hand to lay the tint down as you shrink. Use a glove to smooth it out as you go. Some use a hard card instead but get good with the glove first then try the card or you will crease the film until you learn the touch. I ran into ghosting on my neon you just need more practice and it will stop as you get better a shrinking.

yea i have an 05 dodge srt-4 and i have the lines on the back glass was wondering how it was going to stick and what to do? its not like a normal dot pattern.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
