Full Version: own a scaffold?
Seems like about every 4th or 5th job I do a house that has one freakin stupid window 25ft high in the living room or entry. I hate filming on top of a ladder that's fully extended. It rates too high on my pucker factor.
yea most house's these days have some windows that are high off the ground. There are some ladder braces on the market that work really well. Guy I used to work for had one that he ordered from a window cleaning magazine that was adjustable from 3 feet wide to 6 feet wide.
We have insanely high cielings around here. One of our ladders is a 28'+ Werner and it goes out on jobs several times per week now. 2 of our installers refuse to go that high.
we prefer to use scaffolds
scaffolding is always preferred but trying to set them up in someones house is a nightmare. Extension ladders are good for these jobs, I used a 24 ft ext, for a long time and there was VERY few windows I couldnt tint.
I always hated working off an extension ladder, and still do.
Nice to hear from you OT.. I hate to risk life and limb to tint a high window..not worth it.Let the youngins do it..

I just rented scaffolding for tomarrow, we are doing some upper windows in the pro shop of a local golf course. We have to start the job at 5pm but it should'nt take to long. I'm doing half the job in trade out because its a beautiful golf course and exspensive so I dont play it very often.

A you are now -100K in the hole. We are not talking about a good golf score here OT."
did the job and it went good. Now they want more windows tinted.
