Does anyone know if you get some etching acid on a window If it can be buffed out at all ..or are you into window replacement as the only option icon_confused.gif
TTS
If it's a 'SMALL' area you might be able to polish it a bit more 'clear' ... but you will have 'pits' left where the acid etched into the glass...

I have never done 'vin etch' ... but use the same acid etching compound to etch artwork into glass

Yeah, It's on a 2007 Mazda 3 and the customer just picked it up from one of the dealers i do work for. At first they thought it was something wrong with the tint (of course..it's ALWAYS the tint bat.gif ) however upon further inspection they determined that their guy that does the etching got a little careless so I thought I'd ask on their behalf here if there is any solution other than replacement orngbiggrin.gif

Had that happen once when I was working for ford, found this stuff at the FLAPS that was called 5 minute window restorer basically a scotch brite pad impregnated with a chemical to polish windows.

I have a a poop.gif load of cars come through here lately with spots from sloppy acid vin etchings dunno.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
